Refused refund and moved booking to next year. Now property has been withdrawn and voucher issued. Now having trouble contacting them (phone line unanswered, and currently no reply to email). A refund should be automatically issued as they cancelled the booking but no, I still have to chase for a refund. Now regret having to involve the bank in recovering my money. Holding onto customers money is not good business sense, especially in the current climate therefore can not recommend the company.

We loved our 2 nights at the Milking Parlour on a weekend in late September. Kim was a wonderful host and made time to show our children (age 11 and 9) the farm and animals. We met the turkeys, sheep and pet pigs!

The property itself was fantastic. We have never seen a rental cottage so clean before now, and we've stayed in some great places. Well done! We felt like we were the first guests after a renovation, but the long guest book shows we are but one of many happy guests.

The kitchen was a good size with breakfast table, lots of pots and pans to cook a meal, and there was a thoughtful gift of snacks and milk left for us.

The open plan living room was very comfortable but sadly we never got round to using the fire place.

The twin bedroom is situated off the dining area and is a good size with ensuite. The master bedroom has more space and is upstairs with its own ensuite.

The beds were very comfortable and the towels super soft!

The local pub was closed when we stayed but we ate at the Flying Horse which was good for families. We found the cottage to be a great base for visits to Maidstone, Leeds Castle and Canterbury. Be sure to allow and hour in your stay for a visit to the nearby Buttercup goat sanctuary!

Original cottages were easy to deal with and responded quickly to emails.

SuThe team that I work with in the Canterbury office are really helpful and always sort any issues I have out professionally and promptly. I always feel they are supportive and do their best to promote my cottage and to work with in general.pport from staff and quality of customers and ease of working with is great.
I particularly like the consistence of the contacts with the same one or two people - makes life so much easier. :) Big thank you

They run the cottage like clockwork, and know their market incredibly well.

Rockmount is a great property in a really quiet and lovely location. The lookout is a great place to sit and watch the boats or the weather rolling past. The house has everything you need for your stay. There are lots of steps to get to the front door or a walk up a very steep driveway but not a real issue unless you have mobility problems. Our pooch is a bit of a lap dog in an evening, after a good walk and we always take our own throws to protect furniture but it was really nice that the owners had also provided one for you to use. The walk down to St Margret's bay from the Dover memorial is lovely, but it is a steep climb back up the hill. We ate in both the Smugglers and Coastguards inn, the lighthouse cafe, and pines cafe, and can recommend all - good food, dog friendly, welcoming friendly staff. The bay at Sandwich is a great place to visit especially at low tide. A great expanse of sand, not the usual pebbles and can walk for miles with the dog off lead. The lodge at Princes Golf club has a nice seating area and a dog friendly bar, even providing treats for your hound. it does cost £8 to park on the Sandwich estate but we think it is worth it and did it twice. Hot chocolate from the Lodge afterwards sitting in the sun - what more could you want.

As an Owner, whenever I have to call, which isn't often, I get through quickly and my question/issue is always dealt with efficiently and promptly. If the person I'm talking to doesn't know the answer, they will find out for me. I always feel reassured when dealing with the Original Cottages Team. Thank you.
