Absolutely terrible terrible TERRIBLE staff and extreme lack of basic customer service in this branch of Muji on Carnaby St. How are these people hired!?!?
With the way things are going I wouldn’t be surprised if this branch shuts down eventually. We wanted to do a simple clothing exchange, the female staff upstairs uttered “Go downstairs” and walked off, went downstairs got to the till and male staff member rudely shoved items back saying “manager is on break go to the Oxford St shop”. Quite taken back we asked when the manager would return and had retort of “an hour”. I was so surprised that there was no apology or attempt at service we just left without a word.
What if we didn’t know where the shop was? What if we didn’t have “an hour” to wait?
I would highly suggest not stepping foot in this cesspit, let it eventually shut and do yourself a favour and do exactly as “advised” and go to the one on Oxford St!! Most of the reviews here seem to refer to that branch anyway!

We have been loyal Muji customers for years but never again after our experience with Lori at the Carnaby Street store.
On 22.05.2002 we bought two items at Muji in carnaby Street. We wanted to pay cash, but apparently this is not possible anymore due to covid. We were initially frustrated by this new rule specific to Muji, however without much ado we proceeded to pay for the items with our debit card. AFTER the sale went through and we were turning to leave, Lori, the shop assistant, started berating us that "Muji can do whatever it pleases and not accept cash!" As business owners we understand that and we had indeed already paid with our card and agreed with your terms. It was completely unnecessary and rude of Lori to feel the need to make these comments in a deriding and combative tone. As customers we can also choose whatever we want to do with our hard earned money and it will not be at Muji ever again. We promptly went downstairs and got a refund. Why Lori felt the need to berate us AFTER the sale had gone through on our debit card is beyond us. Rude and poor customer service!

Purchased home slippers. Probably one of the best deals among slippers options I found across Amazon eBay and other shops.

Such well organized cute Muji! The lady with a bang who helped us looking for a shirt was so friendly and helpful. I was there to buy a shirt for my partner and ended up buying one for myself too because of her super proactive and friendly service. Unfortunately I don’t know her name but y’all should give her a raise! 💪🏻

The most staff are good, but just one who was working on the account was really rude.

Just been there earlier today. Once I selected what I wanted and was on the way to the check out, I was asked by one of the staff if I wanted to do a self check out. I agreed. Self check out in the store is through your own phone and once I scanned all items and put my card details the page didn't load and I was told by a staff member to go to a normal check out where I paid for the same items. I just got home and checked with my bank -- I have two payments of £44 odd pounds pending on my account -- I was charged twice. Disappointing. I love their stuff and will continue shopping with them, but will avoid that particular store and will definitely never agree to self check out again.

It is a lovely store with great stock, but I just witnessed the store manager to pick a fight with one of the staff then running to another one and complaining about it. It was very disturbing, you don't do that on the shopfloor.
You lead by example.

Visited this branch today and the staff at cashier was acting totally different facing a British lady and me, as an Asian. She is a middle eastern woman. Greeting and communication with the lady but even not took a look at me. Only said a thank you in an extremely low voice when i paid money( without reminding me the card machine was ready). I just wanna say: you’re welcome 😑
Muji, it’s not about quality of customer service but about if your staff know what is respect.
