I used their yearly plan services for my cat at a practice in Manchester, upon moving to Leicester I visited this Vets4Pets to get him his monthly worming medicine. They refused to issue me the repeated prescription without seeing him in person. After a lot of back and forth with receptionists being confused, I brought him as they confirmed this would be included in my annual package I had paid for in Manchester (£100+). It was confirmed it would be included and all would be fine. Only weeks after seeing him and dispensing his worming medicine did I get a call to tell me I owned £47 for the treatment. I flagged I paid for an annual package and they at that point decided to tell me these were not transferable as Vets4Pets is a franchise. They offered for me to repay and join the annual plan again with them or just pay for the treatment they had provided with no apology for the misinformation. Trying to then deal with the admin side whilst working abroad has been an absolute nightmare. I have received letters threatening they will take action if I don’t pay for treatment I never received viability of costs of at point of service.
In total I have spent over £150+ on essentially a few months of worming for my cat. It’s safe to say I advise staying well away from Vets4Pets.
Pros: Will make space to take new customers when most vets are over subscribed. This particular branch the vet I dealt with was very friendly on delivery service.
Cons: Will do everything they can to get more money, misinformation and difficult admin steps if you work a normal 9-5 job. Unhelpful admin team.
There is a really crazy policy at the moment though: those waiting for appointments are asked to wait downstairs, even though there is an ample waiting area upstairs. There were two of us, plus pets, waiting for our appointments at the bottom of the stairs, when this could have easily (and more safely) be done upstairs.
Alternatively, we could have been informed beforehand to call ahead, and wait in our cars. Waiting at the bottom of a set of stairs, near the PetsAtHome counter doesn't make sense
Staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable.
Has a huge range of different brands including toys, treats and necessities for pets.
Located in the famous St Georges retail park it offers plenty of parking.
Highly recommend this place for all your pets needs. Oh it also features a vetinery too.
It is so different with the other vet I have visited who did not bother to check the teeth of my rabbit (even I asked) and just gave eye drops for infection which did not cure it at all.
I am sending my rabbit for the surgery to remove the spikes on the molars and to clear the eye ducts. Hope this will extend his life for few more months or hopefully years.
Great service and very good with our 2 cats despite one being scared of everything.
Quick to identify what could cause issues and realistic advice.
The vet was amazing, was very thorough and had my cats welfordin mind and looked kept me in the loop of what she was doing to Buster and why.
I will be in rolling my other two cats on their yearly plan.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
