Robin Lewis Vets

Many thanks to Robin, Tina and all the staff for the excellent care given to my pets over the last 20 years and most recently to Tiggy, Frankie and Smudge. I have always found the staff to be caring and most helpful on every occasion I have visited the practice. I trust Robin and Tina completely with my much loved pets and couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Have been with the practice for almost 30 years with various family pets. We've always had a good and fair price service.
Staff are friendly and their love of animals is reassuring. Referrals to specialists are appropriate and timely.
We have always been able to have a emergency appointment when necessary.
Dylan and Izzy had their annual boosters and health checks today. Izzy had lots of cuddles, which she enjoyed . Was given sound doggie health promotion advice about diet and dental hygiene.
Also reassured about a health concern I had about Dylan.

We have used this surgery with no issues for many years.
Looking after our dog with care and integrity.
Following the resent sale of the surgery the level of service has dropped to abysmally.
On the last three visits the vet has suggested treatments and then asked how we would like to proceed.
Bizarre, I have to select the best treatment not the vet!
When challenged the vet stated he did not want to be blamed for the incorrect treatment.
It was never like this when Robin and his wife were there, they alway suggested the best course of treatment.

Just to note, this is the third incident where this has been our experience in the last 9 months.

They only seem interested in telling you the cost, rather than the welfare of the pet.

I would not recommend this surgery to anyone.

We have taken our pets here for numerous years. Always very professional and helpful.
When problems with our pets have arisen, they have booked them in straight away and recieved a full report within the hour. Very efficient. Had to make 2 insurance claims due to costs over the years, again, efficient and happy to assist. Would recommend this practice. The vets are great and so are the ladys you deal with beforehand.

Failed to explain covid restriction when booking appointment meant I wasn't allowed in with my nervous dog to get her boosters! Wouldn't have booked the appointment had I know this. Also have seen people in other vets in the waiting rooms with their animals! Absolutely ridiculous not being clear over the restrictions and obviously no regard for animals wellbeing.

On top of this they then wouldn't let me into the surgery to pay them instead expected me to give them sensitive information, my credit card number, over the phone while in a public place! So not only no regard for animals welfare but no regard for basic information security safety! Never before have I been to a vet that is such a shambles. Please I beg anyone looking for vet to avoid this place, if you care about your animals this is not the place to take them they clearly have no clue!

Things go from bad to worse with this place, called to pay my bill and was told I couldn't get a receipt emailed till tomorrow! I pointed out that as payment was taken over the phone I have no idea what they charged so would need the receipt along with proof my dogs were even vaccinated as I couldn't see what happened to them so wanted the proof today only to receive an email claiming they were too busy to provide what I requested! Absolutely discusting service since the place was taken over and new owner clearly destroying this vets previously good reputation.

The vet did not disclose significant information to me about my kitten's health, which ultimately caused him to suffer more than he had to. I was not told how severe the illness was, and to watch him as it developed was absolutely heartbreaking.

I will not be going to this vets again, as I feel like I was messed around because they thought more about money than the health of the animal. Literally as soon as I paid for euthanasia, I heard nothing about what was going to happen afterwards. It was beyond distressing.

Amazing friendly service Tedi was thoroughly looked after and had some lovely cuddles off the staff which helped me with any anxiety dropping him off for the first time. We were told that due to covid restrictions that we wouldn't be able to go in with Tedi but the staff were so incredible and efficient that the whole process went well. Thank you so much to all the staff at Robin Lewis Vets.

I have used this vets on numerous occasions over the years and never had problems. I took our dog into see the vet as she was acting odd and passing blood in her pee, I was concerned as I had a dog that was PTS the year before due to a Pyometra, so we paid £300+ out on a blood test, urine tests and medication, outcome my dog maybe stressed or diabetic. Then 3 months later the blood is pouring out I rang RL vets to be told she would need blood and urine tests again, I took her to another vets and she had to have emergency surgery the same day she had a Pyometra and all Robin Lewis wanted to do was another lot of tests when she needed a life saving operation. I won't be using Robin Lewis Vets ever again.
