Jones the vet has the most welcoming and professional staff. Small surgery but perfect. Have been taking our family dogs here for roughly 19 years, and that is all the proof there. Byron will always go the extra mile, and delivers the highest standard of care for your pet, whilst also being transparent and honest. The nursing staff are welcoming, always willing to help and also go that extra mile. Perfect 👌🏼

Have been going to the practice for over 10years however my last 2 experiences have not been great. The vet was too busy to look at my cats, and missed a few health problems with both. I was promised a call back if the cat had mites as did not have time to check whilst I was there. The phone call never came and it materialised that she did. After a second opinion by another vet a few days later, I actually managed to get the problem solved.

I'm sure the service would be great normally, but on both occasions I have been there it has been too busy to actually get a good look over.

Took my young female kitten for her post op check up. The vet noticed her gums were a bit red and told to keep a check on them. All the staff are absolutely wonderful, and the vet Monty an absolute star, very knowledgeable on all things cat related, also runs a cat clinic one day a week which I think is excellent. Love this veterinary practice.

Highest prices around ( Summergrove Newport ) . Best to look for a more professional vets . We needed papers for our dog to travel into the Eu and were told that they could do this as they have a vet training . She was unsure about doing it but due to time restrictions that we had we had no other choice but to use them. They also charge the most in the area if not in England as well . They said £175 and then the £45 to see the pet just to listen to the heart . This only lasts 10 days so you must use it or lose it. We also made sure that we could enter with our pet due to the madness of covid rules. They were very worried but did so. However only one person is allowed into the reception area unless you are paying and then the covid rules dont apply Haha. Vet needs more training if she is going to charge the most in the UK for this service and not even know if its okay for all eu or just to enter France. Parking is fine outside or around the back. They dont have any deal for the cafe next door to allow pets in while you wait for your pet to be seen. This would be a great idea but lost on them all. Vet was very scared of our pet and we found this very strange as we have worked in a vets before ourselves and they should not be scared to work with animals.

What an amazing practice, from the reception staff, nurses and vet I couldn't have asked for better care of my cat. The empathy they showed towards me I will remember forever. Can not recommend highly enough

Since Byron has left I haven’t had the best experience with this vets. Rude receptionists on multiple occasions just when I’m ringing for flea tablets, my dogs blood results and booking the vaccination . My dog had his vaccination recently and unfortunately I think the experience has completely traumatised him with a vet assistant who I haven’t met before. I wasn’t able to go in with my dog so he really resisted. The assistant bringing him in and out to the car had no emotion with him and little to no interaction. Don't think she was an animal person so shouldn’t be working with animals . They are trying to rush the animals in and out so do not have the time to calm the dogs down and make them feel comfortable without their owner . When the assistant came out they were criticising me for my dog resisting the vet. What am I meant to do? Pre COVID we would have had a good experience going into the vets . A few people in Malpas have told me similar stories which is shocking as it used to be the best vets about. Very sad but will be finding a new vets as want to feel that the staff love my animal when he comes in and want me as a customer.
