Neither the village nor its Village Hall is particularly interesting but it is set in glorious scenery and has a river walk which is sufficent to justify a stop. There is free parking on the left at the edge of the village on the Slaidburn road. From there one can access the delightful, peaceful riverside walk by going through the farm grounds, directly opposite the steps down to the road. Alternatively, if there is space, one can park by the bridge just before one enters the village, approaching from Clitheroe, and access the walk from that point. We were advised by a local resident that the better riverside walk is in the direction of Slaidburn. This is accessed to the right of the bridge as one approaches the village. And accessed after passing through the farmyard by turning left at the first field. It is about three miles to Slaidburn and back along the river. There are longer walks for those so inclined. Unfortunately the noticeboard in the car park, while it advises one there are a variety of walks, fails utterly to provide any other useful infornation regarding such walks and is a total waste of time. Slaidburn is well worth a viisit ,with plenty of parking and a pub.
