Helpful staff. Basic selection of maps and flapjacks - just what you need for a walk in the locality.

I would advise going to the visitor centre before going on any walks nearby, and especially if you plan to go on a walk on the peninnes walk, because it is a long walk and you can get it accidentally lost very easily, the centre has a wide variety of maps that would suit you to go on the right path so to speak, there maps also show any interesting spots to visit, there is a post office/shop in edale sells the creamiest ice cream I have ever tasted, nicer than Cornish believe it or not, there is a car park you can use to go to visitor centre, and the people at the centre are very knowledgeable about the Pennines walk, and local points of interest. Would recommend this if you are near the centre, and blue John mines is very close which I would recommend a visit.

Lack of toilets and parking was disappointing, limited information.
