Sainsbury's Distribution Centre - Rye Park

An abysmal of a place. Drivers are made to wait long after their load has been tipped. I was on bay a good few hours on an empty trailer becuase 'sainsbury's' and the numptys in the office have a complete disregard for driver's hours and welfare, apparently we have no where else to be!

Just an all round poorly run place. Grumpy old baldy's in the office need to lighten up and crack a smile, their attitude and off-putting demeanour leaves much to be desired. Oh, apart from the rats in the office, there's actual rats running riot all over the place, an infestation like no other, gross but nonetheless reflective of the workers and sainsburys as a whole!!!!

They have this silly driver's sit in the office rule, dumb as the people who run it, there must be a strong correlation between being bald, rude and dumb!!! A cold, dingey office adjacent to unhygienic smelly toilets.

Best part of 3 hours and not even on a bay on a Saturday! Short staffed was the excuse
Got pulled out and left without tipping. They shouldn't book in what they can't handle.... Also need to sort out the parking area, spaces too narrow for the room available. Never going here again.

Very very slow process to be tipped. Removed from cab to sit in a depressing space with everybody else. Security was abrupt.

Not nice been here for one hour already expecting to wait several more hours to get unloaded. Unfortunately drivers have to sit in a dirty uncomfortable waiting room with What is basically a public toilet in same space.Bacteria has atomic weight because of this they generally end up on the floor of restrooms then hand dryer’s make them airborne.Hours spent in public toilet not good. Maybe your undereducated HEALTH and safety guy needs to pay attention to the above.👎

No Covid precautions in place.10 drivers waiting in a cramped waiting room , average 3 hour tip. Met by a miserable woman at the gatehouse.

Gatehouse allocate you a parking bay then you walk over to goods into be allocated a bay.

Making drivers wait in the waiting room again which isn’t the best but the goods in guy I spoke to was friendly and said if the waiting room does get busy they do ask drivers to go back in their cabs.

Keys goes on the hook to the left of the bay and you press the button to red light the bay.

Tea, coffee, cold drinks and a chocolate machine in the waiting room so it could be worse people.

This place is absolute joke. Sitting here for an hour's. They are booking more lorries than capable to tip.
You have to be sitting in a overcrowded waiting room , again.

A large multi ethnic distribution Warehouse. The dynamic has changed over many years. Once a 'family', now sadly a collection of 'individuals'.
Despite many attempts to change the culture to one of 'working as one', there are still to many people trying to advance by 'point scoring' at the expense of others. It's all about 'what you can do tomorrow' not what you have achieved in the past. Shame. Experience is left behind and not rewarded.
