Full disclosure: a friend of mine works at Talton Mill Farm Shop, but this is the only reason I know of its existence!
Just like any farm shop, Talton Mill sells home grown and locally produced items. Meat from animals reared on the farm, dairy products from their own cattle, fruit & vegetables grown on the farm, plus many items from nearby contributors. There are home baked cakes & scones and all the things you would expect to find in a health food store, all very reasonably priced.
On top of all that, there's the service. I was greeted with a smile and a hearty "Good morning!" and offered a bacon sandwich & mug of tea! The bacon was from the farm and thick as a gammon steak!
I was offered help & advice when trying to choose my items, as the choice was overwhelming. There was also someone with a stall selling some of her home made products, including jams, chutneys, sauces and curry paste. She had everything laid out with free samples.
Rest assured, I will be going back!

We are from Nottingham and we were looking for a farm shop. After a while we found this place, but it was a bit far. The review were so great that we actually decided to give it a try. And it's really worth it ! When you enter you can ear the hens, see the cows and sheeps. The tiny shop smell so good. Food look great and tasty. But the part we enjoy the most is the butchery. You want to buy everything. And the butcher is such a lovely guy (as the rest of the team). We would recommend it for sure and come back again.

The most superb food we've had in a very long time. Pulled beef with horseradish cream which melted in the mouth. Fresh home produced meat grown and cooked with respect which tasted sublime. All wrapped up with a warm and friendly welcome. We will be back on a regular basis.

Where do I begin! This place is fantastic! It has a quintessential rustic charm to it. The food is locally sourced or grown (often from their own farm). The team are always exuberant and welcoming.
Highly recommend trying the monstrous and delicious all day breakfast....the big one of course, the bacon is cooked to perfection!

Best black pudding in all the land. The chickens are direct descendents from bloody dinosaurs, massive birds, size of those bones!!! Love getting a fresh warm mince pie to crumb up my beard for the drive home. The bacon is unreal. Some skilled butchery for sure. Amazing gluten free cakes too. What a spot. Even the dog is golden. Ultimate vibes.

FYI, this is a review of Talton Mill as a wedding venue - they used to be a cafe/restaurant, but now exclusively host events such as weddings, which is what we experienced. And we are so, so glad we did 😃
It was absolutely wonderful - from planning, whereby Fran and Liz worked with us to show what they could do, and how they could accommodate what we were after, presenting options and being thorough, through to the big day. We were caught in the Covid wedding situation, so had to reschedule, but they were able to move things around and be really flexible with the changes we had to make. The day itself was fantastic - they allowed plenty of time to get the venue decorated, and the food was as good as these other reviews show 🙂 lots of happy guests, and everything was really relaxed, as planned, and just what we were after. Can't wait for the photos! Thank you to Fran and Liz, and all the staff that helped on the day

It’s impossible to express in words just how incredible Talton Mill and the team there are. They ran our event seamlessly and made sure we were having the best time. The venue itself is beautiful, the rustic vibe, peaceful location and range spaces lends itself to all types of parties.
With the shining sun our wedding was summed up perfectly by one of our guests who said it had the feel of a vintage village fete.
All the food was high quality and delicious. I recommend everyone has a bbq for their wedding breakfast. The evening buffet was great, everyone is still talking about your sausage rolls!!
There is nothing that could have been improved about our day. The planning, booking and execution from the team was faultless.
We loved everything about Talton Mill and highly recommend it to anyone after a rustic, relaxed and fun venue for their event.

A good COVID-19 secure option with plenty of covered seating. Options for vegan/veggie too, though a few pastry options for light breakfast would be welcome, other than just the toast and preserves that are offered.
