Lovely Place, The church is open to the public all the time, The castle being an International Collage is not but we went on a tour of the castle at the end of July, it's beautiful and well worth it, they only do them when the collage is closed though. Its well worth a visit as it is lovely.

Excellent guided tour. Quite a notable castle for being lived in for last 800 years.

Great trip to St Donats at the Summer Fayre 2022 ❤️. My dad being the senior Stradling in the family enjoyed showing the grand children their heritage, definitely worth a walk to the church to see that! Paid £10 a car which is good value for entry and extra £5 pp for swimming, had lovely swim in the outdoor lido overlooking the beach 🏊‍♀️ lots of other activities on offer 🧗‍♂️ but all needed to be prebooked and could get costly if doing lots.
U need to be fairly fit to walk all the grounds as lots and lots of levels and steps. So not wheelchair or pushchair friendly if venturing away from the castle.

Such a lovely experience. The Church is always open for people to visit or pray. It's very peaceful and lots of history to see. The Castle has such fantastic features and looks like something out of a Harry Potter movie

Bought tickets as a family of 4 to the Halloween Spooktacular event to watch HocusPocus in the hall. There was barely any decorations up, the refreshments were extremely basic no hot food just one choice of crisps ASDA popcorn tubs and a couple of chocolate bars! not a festive treat in sight. The promo shots for the event were absolutely NOTHING like the experience on the day everybody just sat in the hall awaiting the film to start with no ambient atmosphere music at all, some people dressed up which was literally the only way you'd ever know you were attending a Halloween event. Nothing more than a cash grab! Poorly lit on the way out somebody fell over and I could have sworn I heard thier phone go flying aswell. WASTE OF TIME/MONEY not happy whatsoever.

Grate please to visit when open to public but they make you feel as if they are doing you a favour.

The ground are good but could be spectacular
The old castle is as nice inside as out.
Some of the other teaching buildings are very old and tatty.

Open day at St Donats.
A lovely day in this historic setting. Situated on the.coast. A walk just beyond the walls will places you on the beach.
The open day offers a walk around the house ( castle), also a climbing wall, Archery, bushcraft - all for a charge. We paid £15 for 2 hours archery. Refreshments , including a chip van were brought in for the day.

A few relaxing gardens to walk through. One with small animal states where.children are encouraged to find a.place to hide from the ' beasts'.

Lovely views from the top of these tranquil gardens. Lots of steps in this layer setting but the are disabled parking places at the top and the bottom.
They also have 2 rescue donkeys.

They have a swimming pool which should be.open to the public at times during the summer. It was being refurbished while we were there.

Parking was £5 ( not sure if this will always be the case or just because it was an open day).

This place is definitely. Worth a visit.
It is situated near Llantwit Major and Nash Point Lighthouse and is on the coastal path.
