When the cutlery and the glassware sparkle back at you, it make you think you are in for something good and oh boy was it better than good. This was the best taster menu we have had in a long time and probably in the top 2. Loved the way the trainees came down and talked about the food. I highly recommend a visit but not on the days we are going back please. It's a shame the star rating only goes to 5.

What an amazing experience. We had the 10 course, menu. This took from 6.45 to around 10.00, felt a little rushed towards the end. Each course was exquisite in both flavour, content and presentation. Each course individually presented to each table. There were pre starters, starters, fish, main a cheese course and dessert courses. The restaurant has seating for 20 which was cosy and you had enough space from the other tables. The serving on staff had to be exceptional knowledgeable about each dish, and were. This is an occasion meal and can easily recommend this to others. I would certainly try and book if I was coming back to caernarfon in the future.

What an amazing experience. Unforgettable evening. Food was delicious. I was trying to choose my favourite dish but first plate was fantastic and every other one was just better than a previous. Amazon service from Rupert and fantastic dishes from Chef an a team. If you are in North Wales you have to book a table here. Highly recommend a place. Will definitely come back

Went here last night with my partner for the 10 course tasting menu. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food came out, explained course by course. Not only was the food exquisite, the service was excellent. Rupert was a fantastic host and we really enjoyed our evening. Will not be long before they receive a Michelin star no doubt. Highly recommend.

Firstly, If you enjoy tastes and flavours and finding intriguing culinary combinations then this place is for you.

Kitchen on the first floor so was greeted by Paul and the team as we entered and then gently ushered down to the dining area by Rupert. Made to feel very welcome and the dining room seat a maximum of 19 so you know already it's not mass catering to push through covers.

Drinks, like the menu itself, thoughtfully local with the obvious exception of the wine. Good selection of everything.

Rupert gives that wonderfully balanced amount of fuss and discreetness so that we felt entirely looked after without someone hovering over you as you eat and chat. Kudos also to Seren (I hope that was right) on her first full shift, very diligently listing the ingredients for and generally being lovely.

Have I told you how good the food is yet? No? Well let me tell you it's fabulous start to finish. As you expect from a tasting menu each course is presented as smaller plates but heaped with interesting and perfectly cooked dishes. I hope that when you visit you get to experience the beef course we did as it was simply melt in the mouth and full of different combinations.

Really that seems to be Paul's watch word with his cooking. Unlike some other tasting restaurants which focus on Dalian-esque presentation or some gimmicky cooking style (I don't need great tasting food presented on a cushion of porcupine smoke supported by replicas of the Elgin marbles carved out of sunflower seeds) the focus is deftly combining different tastes to create very subtle but flavoursome dishes. Trying to pick out the various ingredients became all part of the night and very rewarding to pick out the subtler ones.

Lastly the boring bit, for two people with drinks our bill came to less than £130 which in my mind is actually a bargain for the for the food presented. I've eaten at other restaurants where the starting price per person for a tasting menu is that amount and the food not even half as good. Was left feeling pleasantly full not grossly full and whilst I might have said I could have eaten it all again that's very much wishful thinking (and I'm not a small eater!).

So if you are even vaguely near Caernafon (it's 300 miles from my front door sadly) and want to eat really excellent food in a relaxed setting then you won't beat Sheeps and Leeks. Bravo Paul and co!

My wife and I had a wonderful dining experience at Sheeps and Leeks. Each dish was distinct from the last and each one was a fascinating and delicious exploration of the ingredients involved. That this restaurant found a way for my wife to enjoy mushrooms tells you all you need to know about the quality of the food.

The wine pairing was an excellent addition that I would wholeheartedly recommend. Each pairing was very well suited to the dish and explained in detail by maître d' Rupert. We were intrduced to Romanian wine for the first time, as well as some very good examples of some more common tipples.

Finally we must say that the experience was very faitly priced. £55 for a 7 course menu (wine is extra) represents exceptional value that you will struggle to find elsewhere.

This restaurant is a special gem in Caernarfon's dining scene and we are very happy that we gave it a go!
