Having found a particular recommended californian wine on the website, Only one bottle was available to purchase. One though ... is better than none. There were however, plenty of other very nice wines to choose from.

Had a meal in the Old Bakery Lincoln, enjoyed a certain wine. The told us we could find it at Steep Hill Wines Lincoln. We popped in on our way past, as we entered the lady at the counter was on the phone chatting to a friend?? I searched for the wine in question ....no joy. I took a piece of paper from my pocket with the name of the wine on it...searched again (all in front of chatty lady on phone) no joy. Went into back room...no joy...that is all red wine. Back again to the 'white' shelves....lady still chatting on phone!!!!....searched again...no joy....lady still on the phone. Left feeling ignored! It was obvious we were looking for a specific wine and the phone lady just couldn't be bothered. No worries....we found another wine shop in Lincoln who were more than happy to sell me a box of 6 bottles. I would have let the Steep Hill Wines know but unfortunately there phone was engaged!!!!!!!

Fantastic shop, have never experienced anything like it before... I'm not a drinker but was looking for a gift. My Mum loves her dessert wines, so I picked up a nice bottle as a treat. The gentleman serving asked "Does she drink sherry?" She does, and he not only explained about a certain type of sherry she would enjoy, he gave me a taste! Literally Christmas in liquid form! So beautiful (even to someone who doesn't generally like alcohol) that I bought a bottle. My other half was looking for a bottle of rum, and he was able to try several different ones before he made his decision! I wish I'd taken the gentleman's name, because he was wonderful, his knowledge, passion, and customer service were fantastic! Very highly recommended!!

Excellent wine shop, knowledgeable and helpful.

Always an eye catching window display, which caught my eye long before I ventured inside.

Mainly wine, small selection of spirits and craft beer.

An old building, the foundations far older. Stonework leading down below, Roman guardroom of Lindum Colonia (from which Lincoln derives its name).

Steep Hill was the Roman Ermine Way.

A few suggestions to stock

- Amos Owen moonshine craft vodka
- Hidden Curiosities Gin craft gin
- Silent Pool Gin
- Neon Raptor craft beer

We love Steep Hill Wines. My wife and I have always been made to feel welcome. The selection of wines suits our taste.
I can wholeheartedly recommend visiting, especially if your love wines and or champagnes.

My Fiancé and I stayed at 25 Steep Hill last weekend and it was truly glorious. We were due to go with our friends, however this was changed last minute and Rob couldn't have been more understanding and accommodating. The house is beautiful and perfectly located in the centre of Lincoln - we were greeted with a wonderful hamper, filled with lots of treats for our stay. We also treated ourselves to a bottle or two of wine from the shop below - Nigel was a great help with choosing. Thank you again for being the perfect host Rob, we can't wait to stay again!

Good collection of local ales and bitters. Wine selection is good too. The owner showed me a wine worth £800 and £2500 (I hope I got the price right :))
It was a great experience and will come back again in the future. Highly recommend place.

Really rude staff. Actually left feeling they were in breach of The Equality Act 2010. I will happily spend my money with small businesses where I do not feel victimised and belittled.
