Mother Superior Wine Store & Deli

I'd expected better. Went in for lunch mid-week. Started with staff not knowing what one item on the menu was when i asked. "I dunno. That's just what it's called". The second item i asked about on the lunch menu was not ready yet (at 1pm), so went for the soup. Tasty enough but really over-seasoned and buttered, as was the (albeit generous) toasted bread. Soup was luke warm. But the range of goods on sale looks impressive! Independent wines, pasta produce and fresh delicatessen goods. But as i look around, i notice my plate still hasn't been removed after about 20 mins (it is not busy). Oh, and what dreadful music. Really quite loud rock music! Don't get that at all. May return to shop, but not for the cafe.

Loved the great selection of cheese, cold meats, olives, fresh bread etc. Impressive range of different wines & beers, and the staff were happy to chat & suggest what went well together. Well priced compared to similar places. Great to have this nearby, I shall be back!

Great friendly service from people who know their wine (and yours!) at a variety of price ranges. Love the deli selection (especially the cheeses). Wine tasting evenings are a must for finding your ideal wine and meeting locals.

Friendly staff. Amazing selection of natural wine and beer. Can take away or enjoy the bottle out front for £8 corkage. Definitely stick to the neighborhood spirit. Great atmosphere

Very friendly staff. I usually go in and ask for a suggested bottle of wine and it has never disappointed. Last one was an Austrian Zweigelt, a grape which I hadn’t tried before.

Came a while back and realised I never shared my feedback.

Excellent selection of wine and a must if you want to see the boundary between friendly banter with customers and actually bullying them being crossed. Not sure who's idea it was to include this as a necessary part of the customer experience but it sure does make this place stand out.

Really good selection of natural wines and produce but the customer service is lacking - two guys not very welcoming and no hello or thank you when I purchased a bottle at the till. Disappointing as it is a nice shop.
