The Garrison Tavern

This place is grim. Previously the food has been nice and the pub average. But now it's just dirty and poor. Scaffolding all over the bar and very weird "Peaky blinders" decor mixed with images of men holding Tommy guns on the walls.

We attended a comedy night last night where the staff had over served people ruining the show, staff & security stood and done nothing whilst two of the members racially abused the comic on stage which led to him leaving. We then saw a number of girls who attended leave as they were uncomfortable.
The show was first in the bar, then moved upstairs when we also went to leave and we were asked to stay; upstairs, it was the same still. The comics were treated poorly and the entire evening very hostile in a battered, broken, dirty pub.

The bar staff were lovely, but it seems like management and security really need to get a hold of things. Chelmsford has a lot of good pubs. Definitely try those instead.

Pretty decent pub on the high street. Nice decor and friendly staff. Beer garden is also very well furnished. Drink prices are a bit expensive; however given the region it's understandable.

Nice relaxed atmosphere complemented by great staff who are very friendly and helpful. Nice range of alcoholic drink available as well as the nice touch of board games on the tables, of which there are a few to choose from. Well recommended. For those of you who do not recognise this establishment, it was formerly known as the Saracens Head.

This is what £5 a pint gets you at this place. Smells of cherry vape and what's with the velvet sofas?!

Very dissapointed in this place! Booked kareoke brunch online for my friends birthday, when we arrived at 4pm we were told kitchen was shut and no kareoke! Noone called us to let us no, lack of good management and communication, not surprised it was deserted! AVOID

The staff were very welcoming and there was a very welcoming atmosphere. In this pub , they also had a lot of male eye candy for us to have a look at what a wonderful day that was

One of my favourite bars in the town centre. I've only visited on weekends but always lively and friendly. Staff and drinks are good too.

Excellent pub and they put on all sorts of events, would throughly recommend it.
