Two well maintained pool tables keep us coming back, and the unexpected genuine stone pizza oven which warms the room produces possibly the freshest and nicest pizzas in the area, not to mention fresh garlic bread.
Criminally empty most days - you won't regret checking this place out
Need to change their drinks system, there's about 25 staff, but the POS isn't linked to the people who make your drinks, and there them seems to be zero communication between the food ordering and the chef. We had wrong things, no things and two of things just randomly come to the table over the course of 90 minutes. And a bottle of beer is £5.50 which is absurd, and no draft.
We had a particularly good experience as Brewdog were in the bar that night, and as a result a shuffleboard tournament with them was ongoing! Staff did an excellent job at running this. We also really appreciated that the manager (Marina) checked in at the end of the night that everything had been ok and had done a great job of keeping things together. Planning to go back with friends!
Food is distinctly average and service not too dissimilar.
£9 for half an hour for what is, really, a niche activity, (sorry enthusiast) hardly seems worth it. Coupled that with the eye watering £6 bottled beers and you may end up like me: wondering where all your money went.
Perhaps it's a good thing the beers are expensive because this isn't a place to 'break the seal'. There is only one toilet in the WHOLE VENUE. One toilet for women, men, disabled and baby changing. That's a room that will likely see a lot of action on a Friday/Saturday night!
It's a shame that the variety of the toilet isn't matched by the game selection. For a self proclaimed "gaming hall" there isn't much on offer. Out of seven of the table games 4 are shuffle board. How often do you and your friends venture out desperate to find a place to play shuffle board? Not often I would guess (sorry again to the enthusiast).
Though I was initially intrigued by the novelty, this soon gave way to boredom, and, let's face it, empty pockets.
Sorry, but there isn't enough here to make me want to go back. There are much better gaming halls with much cheaper beer.
