The Clipper

I have a specific dietary requirement and the staff went above and beyond to help me. They checked all food before giving it to me and the chef made everything fresh for me which tasted delicious. I can’t thank you all enough. You made me feel so welcome and like nothing was to much trouble.

Great lunch specials. Comfy seating. We sat inside but patio was available. Food was very good. Staff was friendly. Good WiFi.

Yet again on a Saturday this place is understaffed!! This is the smartest pub in town, serving the best food. Watched a few couples leave as they were fed up waiting. Need to be more organised. Staff to deal with drinks only, and others to deal with food only????? Staff currently trying to do a bit of everything and its not working. Toilets are not particularly clean as usual. Food was great as always, but staff run off their feet!!

Average. Very slow service given there was only 4 tables in when we were there.
The food was tasty but the lack of atmosphere and interaction from the staff meant we sat for 20 minutes after our meal waiting on the table being cleared then a further 10 after being given dessert menus. We also waited nearly 40 mins for our main after our initial order. We didn't bother with desserts. We paid and left.

I was in on friday 8 of us having a meal place wasent to busy. I wouldn't have liked to see if it was .we booked our table in advance as it was my friend 50th we were going away for weekend we were getting picked up at 4 so we booked table for 2 thought we had plenty of time how wrong we were. We ordered our food starters took ages to come they were 7 starters ordered which were goodwhen they arrived . I thought know for the mains we waited for every for them to come we had to go ask where they were as we were so.pushed for time girl said they are just coming . my friend got her meal she ordered chips they we brought out when she had finished her meal , my other friend that didnt have a starter meal was brought to her after all us had our main meal. she was having fajitas they brought her wraps and dips waited another 10 /15 mins for her steak by then wraps were cold steak was so spicy she couldnt eat there was no point asking for something else to be cooked as we already waited long enough .
We all just felt in the end we booked table in plenty of time to in the end we had to all gulp our food quickly down to head to our bus not very pleasant thing to have to due having to travel on a mini bus for a few hours. It wasent poor girl fault that served us she was stressed having to keep asking where our food was she was the one doing all the apologizing .i forgot to.mention our table was all set up for us coming in we did ask for a set menu which was provided would help in future if they were all the same as we were all so confused as we all had diffrent one . Sorry i am just writing this review know as we just got back .

Walked past and decided to stop for lunch. Not very busy for a Monday lunchtime. Quick service and food was good and reasonably priced. TV screens a-plenty.

Very nice atmosphere. Dog friendly. Staff were very pleasant. Food, generally, was good. My Clipper Kebab, however, was filled with overcooked lamb slices. When I complained about this the staff member only accepted that it was overcooked when I banged a slice off the plate. He went off, to presumably, report my complaint but never came back. Other than that and the fact that I felt it was over-priced, it was okay.

We stopped in to have a quick bite. The service was friendly but very slow.
The two people in my party enjoyed their meal, but they screwed up my order.
They offered to replace it, but since it took so long, I just left still hungry.
