Great place to visistin the Uplands. Allows dogs, food is fantastic and the drinks are cheap compared to Katherine bars in the same area. Friendly atmosphere inside and the staff are quick and efficient in the order and any demans you have. Lots of screens for sports and a lively atmosphere. Lots of room with 3 floors, with a pool table included. Would highly recommend. 5 stars

Oh, the things I could say about this place.

You look outside and you think "huh, this looks exactly like the old Jack Murphy's in town, I don't like it" and yet, you walk in and your opinion changes.

It's very well laid out. The staff are awesome, funny and offer great service. It's one of the cheapest places in the Uplands area for drinks. They also have a nice, varied food menu for the price. I recommend anything that has the "special sauce". They also do student deals on drinks&food on a Wednesday and Thursday.
The venue has a pool table, which adds another reason for you to visit. There's a jukebox playing music from a variety of different artists, and now that restrictions have been somewhat lifted, live music is now a regular occurrence over the weekend. Speaking of music, they also have karaoke on Thursdays.

During the week, you can expect to be served quickly, on a weekend you can expect to be served almost as quickly. The bar seems quiet during the week but on weekends, there's a lot more people.

I love this venue, it's a great place for a good night out. Shout out to everyone that works here. From the glass collector, to the kitchen staff, to the management, you're an amazing group of people.

5/5, would highly recommend.

Lively pub, great band on. Toilets are up 3 flights of stairs though which is just a pain. Bar staff and bouncers were great.

Jack Murphy’s in Uplands is one of the more recent additions to the choice of pubs/bars in the Uplands area (Been Drinking in the area’s 20+ Years).

Look and Feel – The feel of the décor is of Industrial urban design with an unusual twist with quotes and lines from welsh artists and poets dotted around the place overlapping an Irish themed colour scheme. The furniture is clean and comfortable spread over 2 floors with different seating options such as standard round and square pub tables which sit 4/5, and high bench tables seating 6 with a Pool table and large sofas upstairs. And when the weather is not bitterly cold or raining (pretty much all of Swansea’s winter), a small smoking and terrace area with picnic tables you can enjoy unintrupted sun from mid afternoon to around 6 in the evening the summer.

Price – It is one of the cheaper options for your pocket on standard tap Beers, Lager and Cider prices to go for drinks or food. I’m not a premier lager drinker, but friends say reasonable priced. For students and younger groups, there are always some offer’s going on shots or shooters.
Customer Service – The staff are friendly and have always been helpful, going the extra mile to ensure that you are happy with every order. In the very few cases where a “dodge” pint poured (you know that last pint of a barrel that does not quite taste right) has always been swapped or an alternative provided without question. Nearly always quick service, which I see as less than 5/10 mins to get a drink even when the place is at total capacity.

Security – I have found the security staff to be well mannered and helpful on the nights when they “man” the door, making you feel safe and secure, operate and ensure No Drugs, which I’ve witnessed an increase in the area of recent years.

Atmosphere – Depending on the night, Jack Murphy’s can be “reasonably busy” to “standing room only” when seating only restricted are lifted. You can expect a fun and enjoyable evening with friends or even meet and chat with new people. I would say it is friendly and inviting, encouraging a great experience.

Conclusion – a definite place to visit any night of the week/weekend which is great on your pocket, products kept to an excellent standard where its food or drink, friendly staff and chilled atmosphere.

Disclaim: I have not been paid in any way to write this review, and in-fact it is the first I’ve ever done. Enjoy!.

Been going here faily regularly since it opened. Started off great. Very sad to see this place steadily going down hill towards the grotty grimey old Jack murphys of wind st. When it first opened it was a breath of fresh air, a very welcome change to the other pubs of uplands. But now standards have slipped big time, it is not clean, tables always sticky, menus disgustingly dirty, toilets not cleaned overnight or throughout the day. Recently the staff all seem very new, inexperienced, which is not a bad thing in itself, but the lack of training leaves them not really knowing what they are doing, one told us we couldn't have side plates to go with our "tapas" selection as the chef didn't like them using them.

The whole place needs a good clean!! Come on please don't let standards drop any further, sort it out!
