We 'popped' in for a quick beer. What a nice pub. Really genuine friendly service. Good real ales. I like American pale ales but the Charles Wells bombardier was excellent. They have dining in a separate dining facility which we didn't try but judging by the general ambiance and great service I would be keen to try.

We dined there to celebrate one of our friend's birthday. Apart from the pub, they have a restaurant section too. Very simple looking but we were the only party at that time and that was all we needed. As they noticed bday party we got complimentary prosecco which was a very nice gesture. The food was good, portions were ok. The only letdown was the heating, it was very cold. Clearly, the restaurant section is not used often and heaters were turned off. It didn't get any warmer with time and we left earlier than expected.

Nice pub. Been done up since I last visited, looking good. Guinness was also good. 👍

This pub has been transformed from a very run down pub to a very pleasant and friendly place to come and drink .The landlady has invested in the essentials to turn this place around. The next step is introducing food back , which I look forward to. The Halloween night was great with music in the back and we thoroughly enjoyed the musicians playing a few weeks ago. A great asset right on our doorstep.
It just needs us all to support it .

Booked as a venue for a wake. Emma and team did an amazing job. Couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating with special diets - there was plenty of food and it was all really tasty. So welcoming and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this pub.

Atmosphere was good, drinks cheaper than the other pub.....however the Sunday roast was a bit mneh, felt like the beef was boil in bag meat and the roasters. Well if Aunt Bessie lived and worked in this pub then they were home made. Positive note the dessert was really good. Shall visit again but not for food.

The online menu was out of date.
We were also made aware it was its last day of serving food. Restaurant was closing.
The manager was a lovely guy so we decided to stay and have a meal. The food was nice thanks. 3 stars for the manager.
