I was in the area for 2 nights and looked for somewhere good to eat, I found this place and what a find. I had the best gammon, chips, egg and mushy peas I've had anywhere, I went the second night and had it again it was that good. I saw the other food and it looked fantastic, listening to the ravings of the people eating it, it was as good as my gammon. The service is outstanding, friendly, fast and efficient and when someone had left a table it was cleared, sprayed/ cleaned with antibacterial spray and reset. I was very impressed by this place and if I'm back in the area,I know where I'm going to eat.
I recommend that if you find yourself within driving distance of this gem, go and treat yourself to great food and service. Thanks Derby Arms and to the great staff. Rohan

The bloke who served us was tremendous and the food I had was outstanding. I had the steak and ale pie with thick cut chips and it was one of the tastiest meals I've ever had. I asked for a side of colslaw which wasn't on the menu and the waiter brought it over free of charge.

The portion size was superb too. I usually never leave food but on this occasion the pie I had was so large I couldn't finish, even though I was enjoying it so much.

Overall this was exactly what I needed for a nice enjoyable Saturday meal out with my girlfriend and I'll definitely be returning and getting exactly the same plate.

Excellent service from friendly helpful staff. The food is amazing and portions are very generous. Even better, dog friendly and dogs get treated too. Dog biscuits available, very nice. Strongly recommend you go but must be hungry when you do visit 😄😄😄

Brilliant meals, as you would expect from a Michelin rated chef, but really generous portions you would not expect. good choice of five real ales from Robinson's. A nice touch was the offer of a free pint on the next visit to encourage people to revisit. it won't be long before you will not be able to move in this place; I would advise anyone thinking about going to get there now before word gets round. You might well see me there, slumped in a corner with a big grin and a pint!

Stopped by for some home made lunch and we were not disappointed. Huge portions, beautiful food and really friendly staff. Great menu with lots of choice and deals for 1, 2 or 3 courses. Staff were helpful in swapping the onion gravy for plain gravy on my Husbands sausage and mash, and I requested no potatoes on my sunday lunch and again this was no problem. The half chicken was enormous and very tender! Will return and would recommended to anyone wanting a nice lunch in a rustic village pub

Lovely decor and nice and clean. Only went for lunch but it was really nice. The children's fish goujons were amazing, such lovely white fish in thick flakes, perfectly cooked and thin and crispy batter. Not much cheese on my tuna and cheese melt but tasty anyway and lots of coleslaw with it. I think the fish goujons made it for me!

Went last night for a meal and when we got there we thought omg why is it dead! When I say dead there were more staff than customers. But we thought no were here now so let's just see.

Shown to our table and given menu, waitress came within 5 mins, took order. Waited no longer than 10 mins for starter. Which was brilliant. 10 mins after finishing the mains arrived. The steak pie was amazing. Unfortunately we couldn't finish our meals as we were too full. Then certainly couldn't fit in a dessert. Most people wouldnt complain about this I know BUT we had organised a baby sitter and after we had finished and paid the bill we realised we had been out of the house for 90 mins if that. So we went on for a drink somewhere else.
We may have just gone at completely the wrong time for it to be so quiet, great food tho.

Food good but service was terrible. Only had 3 tables of 2 in the restaurant, service was so slow and even had to go to the bar to get refill drinks ourselves , whilst 2 waitresses stood with their arms folded doing nothing. Dread to think how they would cope on a busy night. Definitely won't be making a return trip. Very disappointed.
