The Black Horse Inn, Nuthurst

One of the best village locals you will find. This low beamed Grade II listed pub is friendly, and dog friendly, with well kept real ales, a winter log fire, and reasonably priced chef prepared food. Try the Sunday roasts, but make sure you book. Watch out for the aparitions, particularly the 'Black Hound of Nuthurst', and the 'murderer' who moves objects across a window table in full view. Reputedly one of the most haunted pubs in Sussex.

Lovely country pub, beautiful setting and friendly, attentive staff. Food was great, including really, really good chips (and great homemade tartar sauce), especially excellent pies and delicious puddings too - crumble and cheesecake extra recommended.

Very friendly staff and a great choice of good quality food. Could do with a slightly bigger choice of gins but that's personal choice. There are a few tables out the front and a lot more out the back (I feel more relaxed outside in the current climate). Service was quick and with a smile. We'll definitely be going again

Great food. Lovely staff. Our 3rd or 4th visit as a halfway venue 👍 to meet friends. Have tried elsewhere purely for a change but keep coming back to The Black Horse!

Tremendous food. A real chef cooking tasty fresh food. Lovely service. Great ambiance. Lots of separate spaces.so not too noisy. A real gem.

Excellent food, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and all reasonably priced. All round great.

Excellent ambience, fine beer, attentive table service. The partridge was absolutely sublime, the soup a bit meh.
