Beautiful surroundings for an excellent hotel and pub. The bedroom was well appointed with a large bathroom and four poster bed, very clean and comfortable. Had a sandwich and a pint in the gorgeous garden on arrival, so opted to eat our evening meal out there as well. The food was second to none; the steak and ale pie was delicious with the steak melting in mouth while the crust was firm and tasty and the slow cooked rib my wife chose just fell apart and tasted wonderful. Will definitely stay there again.

Great pub in a good location. Plenty of parking and space when busy. Lovely semi secluded garden set up well for all seasons. The menu is good honest pub food as you'd expect with many of the usual suspects done very well. Good beers on draft and fair wine selection too. Accomodating for dogs and cyclists too.

Very friendly staff. Easy booking online.
Dog friendly, which is a bonus for us.

A good and varied menu, with "different" choices.

The food is delicious and good portions.

For midday lunch, I had the pea risotto and my wife, had the Beef and Ale pie.
A beautiful setting in this lovely Pub. Plenty of space inside and out.
Well done to the owners.

Great Inn and location, staff couldn't be nicer and more welcoming. We stayed in a dog friendly room, well fitted out and clean, even a dog welcome pack. The evening meal was delicious, great breakfast too. We were fortunate to be able to eat outside in the evening in a lovely setting. It is apparent that this is a happy ship with lovely can do attitude staff. We will be back soon, thank you!

Wonderful pub, friendly and perfect setting. We were blessed with good weather and the beer garden was excellent. Inside its very historic, with open fires and low ceilings. Probably one of my favorite pubs in the UK!

Very welcoming and quite beautiful inside., it gets very busy but turning up on spec a table for four was arranged.
I had the hake on potato cake which was so tasty and different, the side veg are also well done. Loved the broccoli balsamic and truffle mash. Creative menu well done.
Drinks are a bit pricey though.

It is fabulous. Great atmosphere. Great food and really helpful and attentive staff. We love it! The only downside in leaving this TOP review is that it will be more difficult for me to book another meal here! 😭😭

My partner and I were in Devon for New Year and our host recommended a walk round Lydford Gorge followed by a stop-off here for some food! Despite it being New Year's Day and us not having booked, they were able to find us a table. There was Roast Beef and Roast Turkey on the menu which suited us both perfectly. The food was excellent and good value for money. Would definitely come back here again when in the area.
