Nice pub full of character.
For those who stay over for b & b
the landlord provides a very nice breakfast.
The landlords cat is very friendly too.
Off the beaten track unfortunately but there are buses which can be caught just outside the pub to lydney and cinderford

Simple no frills accommodation in a great location. The landlord was really friendly, breakfast was great and the pub served decent beer. Room was warm and the bed comfortable. Really good value too. Location was perfect with food close by and really close to Forest of Dean for Mountain Biking. Could have been a little cleaner.

An old fashioned local pub. The interior is nothing fancy, but the drinks are very reasonably priced and you get a warm welcome, both from Dirk the landlord and the locals.
You can play darts, pool and quoits

Nice, quirky pub. Great place to go for a quiet drink. The dart boards are decent with good lighting and there's also a pool table. Everyone we met there was friendly, and most of them enjoyed saying hello to our dog :)

Dirk made us feel so welcome and so did the locals. Happy to have my 13month old pup and helped me with getting things inside. Would definitely stay again. Dirk makes an amazing breakfast too. A proper Inn and a proper bar, what a lovely place.

I had the best time ever. The landlord and the locals made me feel very welcome. Breakfast was out of this world. One of the locals told me that about 4am if you look out of the window you will see wild boar walking the streets, and guess what..... find out for yourself. The pub is full of curiosities and paintings from the landlord himself. He is a very talented artist. And PC (pub cat) is so friendly. I highly recommend staying. I stayed for 2 nights. Firstly there is so much to do and see and because you can't check in until 4pm you would feel cheated of the time you had there.

Stayed here two nights with our motorbike and dog, Dirk was very inviting and was always looking to help. Breakfast was really good and a good choice of ales for the evening while having a game of pool or sitting outside. I would highly recommend visiting or staying at the New Inn.

Really lovely guy runs it, nothing too much bother! Nice size rooms, good choice of drinks. Place could do with a bit of sprucing up but nice feel.
