Went here for my wife birthday on Monday with family and friends. Although they were very busy and we were told the wait would be 30 minutes, the food came out in 20 minutes. Everyone's food was amazing can not fault the food or service in anyway. The staff were friendly and pleasant and the garden was lovely. Also the food was not over priced and good value for money. Will be back again very soon. Thank you for a lovely afternoon .

Had a lovely time. Great food and the service was perfect. The kids loved their meals. Portions are a big size and well worth it.

Lovely pub to visit anytime of the year. Has a cosy bar area, nice restaurant area and great beer garden overlooking the woods. Food very nice and filling. Staff very friendly.

Went for a family Sunday roast, food was really yummy! Roast potatoes were cooked properly loads of veg and good variation. We even had a pudding and we were not disappointed. The food was proper home cooked food.

Hadn't been there before, ideally book before you go. Friends had said the food is good and you get plenty of it, they weren't wrong. The food is really good. Been there twice now and it was the same food was good the people are lovely couldn't do enough for us I'd definitely go back

Just had a Christmas lunch with 4 friends. Food was amazing. Large portions for all. I had goats cheese starter, salmon main and sorbet dessert. All 3 courses were amazing, really outstanding!

A warm and welcoming country pub on the outskirts of Colchester. Limited vegetarian options of bar food. The beer I had was well kept and from the Wolf Brewery.

Nice little pub, stopped off for Sunday lunch. Service was slow and it was hard to get the attention of the staff, other than that, solid food, no other complaints, would be another star with some attentive staff.
