Great little dog friendly pub. Atmosphere was good, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was really tasty. Proper pub grub with a high end feel and taste to it. Perfect place to stop for a rest after a walk along the river.

CARD ONLY

This pub is worth 5 stars just for the chips, the music and the barmaids.
The decor is well chosen, the tables all wood, the cleanliness well-maintained and the staff (all staff) have excellent service manners.

They may not accept cash payment, but this is mainly irrelevant in today's society anyway and it wouldn't affect my decision to return.

Final note: THE CHIPS ARE AMAZING!

Recently moved back to the area and popped in for a drink. The food looked good so ordered a steak. I can honestly say it was the best steak I'd ever had. Everything was seasoned beautifully. My husband had the steak and ale pie and he said it was lovely.

Good pub for drinks but bad for food. Sadly the last few times we’ve eaten here have been bad in my opinion. Used to be really good but tonight had the driest vege burger we’ve ever had, no mayo, had to ask for cheese and got no gherkin (all supposed to come with). Also got normal chips instead of sweet potato (but my girlfriend asked for normal chips, this wasn’t reflected in the price we paid), not that we cared at the time. But when we got the bill we thought is was super expensive, the drinks added up but the veggie burgers were £14 each. More than anywhere else we’ve been recently (cost of living considered) for a lot less quality. That said staff are great and decent as a pub for drinks, hence the three out of five stars. Also worth noting it’s a company pub so nothing that the staff are responsible for, food, beer selection and prices are directed by head office almost always in my experience.
Addition: our friend had a chicken burger, she was disappointed too. This pub is pet friendly and a few people had dogs here, always lovely to see dogs at the pub

This is a fantastic place to eat and relax. The pub is superb. Its got character and plenty of space. Its dog friendly and our pooch was most welcomed and soon made friends with the locals. The menu is diverse and the food is exquisite. The staff are brilliant, too. We loved our visit to the Ferry Boat and will be back in November.

Great food & a lovely pub, however be prepared for a long wait. Our food took well over an hour, due i think to the lack of staff. The ones that were there were lovely and very helpful. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for the wait.

We ate at this lovely pub tonight for the first time and loved it! The food was amazing, the staff were great and a lovely pub atmosphere. It was great value for money and the food was 10/10, we’ve already booked for next weekend! Dog friendly too and a lovely garden for the summer.

The food has always been good and the staff helpful.
Good sized car park and an enclosed beer garden, ideal for dogs and small wandering children. The pub is also dog friendly inside.
