Very nice pub. Big garden. Landlords are very friendly. Great place for a drink.

Despite being right opposite the prison wall which may put some people off, (Don't worry, no one a going to jump over and steal your beer!) The pub has a friendly atmosphere, many times I've popped in for a couple after work and ended up staying longer due to good and funny conversations. It has a pool table, beer garden which sometimes holds music events. Matt and Caroline who are the hosts are lovely people and have always made me feel welcome.

Great proper local boozer, good beer, service with a smile, pool table and unlimited top tracks on the jukebox, what more could you ask for!

Basic place with hints of quirkiness. Interior decor evokes a working men’s club vibe, but with less charm. Locals in situ seem to approve, mind. Drinkswise I’d say generic lager is your best bet, this certainly ain’t the place for cocktail lovers. A friend of mine was served a G&T without so much as an ice cube, never mind anything as exotic as slice of lemon. The pool table is probably the highlight.

Maybe I picked the wrong day to come in here. Everyone seemed to know each other and stared when I walked in. Was lacking atmosphere. Quiet for a Saturday night. Had a pint of Adnams Ghostship which was well served. Will have to give this pub another try!
