They have the staff and the offering completely correct.
The staff make eye contact and acknowledge your presence almost immediately you get close to the bar. Whilst this used to be how it’s done, these days the staff look down and don’t acknowledge or even look in your direction at all. Which is a bad way to run a customer facing business. So somehow they have that right. Whether they’re training them, or just picking the right people with social skills I don’t know. But that bit is right.
We’ve only been there three times so far, but on each occasion the food was excellent, and the drinks properly served. For instance the beer was cold.
You’d be surprised how often the beer isn’t properly cold which is because no one bothers to check the water in the pump end refrigeration unit under the bar. Somebody is doing that.
All in all someone is owning the detail of running the place and getting it right.
So yes. They have one of the best offerings in the area and we’ll be back.

Absolute hidden gem and worth the effort to find and stay the night Hats off to the chefs, who put every effort into creating mouthwatering meals. The potted crab is heavenly. Fresh bread, perfectly crispy bacon... every dish is stunning. Rooms are clean, bed is soft, coffee in the rooms is quality. The hotel/pub itself is quaint, always something that catches your eye and is full of rustic charm.

Came to the Ivy House with a group of friends to watch live music. The setting was gorgeous and the staff were friendly and attentive. Didn’t get to try the food myself but friends said it was great quality. We will definitely be back! Thanks team 😊

We as,a family went for a Sunday Roast. The food was very good. We couldn't fault the service. The food and drink was competitively priced. A very enjoyable experience. I would certainly recommend.

Fantastic customer service. Before arriving I asked for recommendations for taxi companies, they gave me a couple of numbers and even offered to book for me. They were also kind enough to accommodate a late check. Throughout our stay the staff were easy to contact and always happy to help. Also - the breakfast was amazing :) best full english I've had in a long time

One of our local favourites. Would say we visit around once or twice a month, and it had always been enjoyable.
Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. Food are always well-presented and enjoyable.
Highly recommended :)

Great Pub, Very friendly and the food is absolutely lovely.. They also provide a very good service if you would like a private celebration. I did not stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms but judging by everything else here I would say the rooms will be Lovely too. Highly recommend 👍🏻

We visited The Ivyhouse yesterday for my birthday. There were nine adults and a toddler. We had a wonderful afternoon. The place itself was lovely. Charming, warm and cozy. The staff were really friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing. One of the best places we’ve been to to eat in a very long time. We will certainly be going there again. Thank you 😊
