Another great Pub with lots of character. Had a pint of Heineken and a Puerto De Indias Gin and Lemonade. £10.20. Loos were decent. Staff friendly.

We asked in person how to book for dinner earlier in the day, while with our baby, and they directed to us online to book a table.
This was a weekend away for our wedding anniversary so we were very much looking forward to our anniversary dinner here, having done research on where to eat, prior to our visit to Canterbury.
Every other pub and restaurant in the area allows children and when we enquired at Thomas Becket, there was no mention of children not being welcome, on their website or booking forms there was also no mention of no children. Yet, on arrival with our sleeping baby we were told we were not welcome... even though the pub was half empty and quiet for a Friday night. The manager didn't even have the courtesy to come out from the back and speak to us. We have no problem with places not allowing children, however we do have an issue with it not being highlighted anywhere and their staff even seeing us with our baby earlier in the day when we asked about booking. Very disappointed.

SImply excellent! The Sunday Lunch was absolutely perfectly cooked and presented. My wife enjoyed the roast chicken, I the roast beef sirloin. Host was delightful as were the two girls serving and bar-tending. Would definitely return if I didn't live so far away; perhaps another time...THANK YOU to all at the Thomas Becket.

Great pub that is Dog Friendly and very Dog Welcoming. Nice selection of Tap beers, Ales on hand pump. Great Mild on today and nice lunch. Thanks Team

Lovely pub with a stilted ambience. Seems like people were happy to sit in relative silence . We were a happy but controlled bunch of guys in our 60s who were berated for having a good time. Otherwise good but barman needs to chill out

New management making all the difference. Dog friendly with a menu for dogs too (including a friendly pub dog).
Great wine by the glass, beyond most restaurants.

Lovely pub to bring the dogs. Good selection of beers and real ales, often from local breweries and at reasonable prices. Board games aplenty and a nice relaxed atmosphere, tucked away just off the main high street. Highly recommended.

I have been wanting this place to open for a while now and finally it's happened. I visited today with my partner and we were both left wanting more. Upon entry of this charming rustic and genuinely old but with detailed efforts to rebuild showing the old beams (obviously replaced with new but rustic looking beams), we were greeted by a very pleasant chap who was full of information and great advice. The beer was fantastic, clean, fresh and cold, service was impressive with a great atmosphere all round. The food, oh my flipping heck, wow. We had the pulled beef and caramelised red onion croquettes with a mustard mayo sauce, the Scottish smoked salmon with capers and sour dough bread and the sausages sweet chilli and sesame sauce. Everything was done to perfection, the decor was nice and kept to old roots. Honestly I could not find a single fault with this place today so will be definitely going back soon
