Much appreciation to this great take over and refurbishment, we live down the road and finally we have a decent local, we went this eve with our baby for some wine and food the staff were great/friendly the place looks amazing compared to before, the wine list is small but has some good reds (not tried the whites yet) the soft opening food was right down my street from meats/cheese to calamari and fishcakes. Looking forward to seeing what's to come and 100% here for it 🙌🏼🥳

So grateful to have this pub as our local. Friendly staff, homely atmosphere and delicious food. Really accommodating with allergies- nothing was too much trouble. Huge thanks to the team for a great Sunday lunch!

Supported their well attended quiz night this evening. Great hospitality with the chance to order some of their lovely lote bites during the interval. So pleased we finally have a good pub right on our door step.

Fantastic roast dinner, such an amazing refurb & such top quality food. I would say the price is well worth it. Great service, attentive staff. Nice selection of good food & drinks. I am so happy we now have such a quality local pub in the area. The old Compasses pub was a total dive - don’t be put off by the name being the same or the old pics still on google maps as it has completely changed!

Newly opened and nicest enough place. Would go back, limited menu but fresh cooled and quality food. Value for money maybe a 3, however the slightly expensive but very good quality wine put our bill up.

Walked past this pub today and was surprised to see it back open so thought I’d pop in. What a transformation! Friendly, welcoming staff, great service and lovely decor and a cosy feel to the pub. This was only a spur of the moment visit but will definitely be back. Hope it succeeds.

Not a normal pub now drinks far too expensive hence why it was empty at 6pm on a Saturday night. Staff were so bored I had 3 all trying to serve me. Friendly welcome but not for the average pub goer in Chelmsford
