Lovely big place with a lot of history I imagine with pleasant and helpful staff. It's just a shame about the food. The wrap was short on halloumi and the classic burger was dry and tasteless the roll it came in was hard and the fries below average. It maybe cheap eats but just awful.

Whilst staying in St Albans for a few days we had breakfast here everyday and I highly recommend. The place is family friendly, clean and the food is really food. Cannot beat the value. Also had lunch and food was great

The heatwave Buttermilk burger was lovely. Lots of flavour and the spicy mayonnaise was very spicy. Gammon egg and chips was good. Large piece of gammon and plenty of chips. Lovely building.

A huge interior with beautiful ceilings. I was there on a Friday and the place gets slammed inside and out as the day goes on. Well kept beer as seems to be the way at Weatherspoon’s pubs. The food was fine I had a large piece of fish with chips, very reasonable price. Large outdoor seating area which catches the sun in the afternoon.

Okay on a hot day for a cheap drink... the cocktails are reasonably priced as is the pitcher of Pimms... YES I would possibly stop again for a first drink but wouldn't make this place my end destination... staff friendly but the place was busy & noisy... not my cup of tea 🤷🏻‍♀️

Absolutely love the chicken wings ...the loaded fries and the pizza is also great too , thought we would try the new chicken on the menu...lemon and herb but that was not to our taste I was thinking it would be peri peri style but had a weird taste to it so we left it!

I haven’t visited this pub for years, and probably only a couple of times previously. It’s easy to snobbishly dismiss Wetherspoons’ pubs, plus the chain owner doesn’t get good press. Nevertheless they do what they do very well!

Like most Wetherspoons’ premises this is a spacious, stylish building. You won’t find a longer bar and bigger range of beers/ales/lager in St Albans, and at the cheapest prices. Also a large, covered area outside for smokers.

I was impressed by the latest additions to the bar, including Leffe Blonde at £3.49. Clearly the busiest pub locally on a Tuesday evening in early February.

I’m not enticed by either the choice/look of the food but you can’t argue with a successful business model.

Extremely pleaeent ambience with the high cieling and wooden beams. The food was unusably tasty hot and fast to the table. My arms did not stick to the tables here and the whole place look impeccably clean and staffed with adults. Will most definitely be coming back here soon.
