Big outdoor area, away from road. Good food and pleasant place to enjoy a quiet cider!

Local pub with friendly staff and decent drinks selection. Popular with a cross-section of people, no loud music or TV so a good place for conversation. Good standard pub food. Function room popular with local groups. Recommended as a place to spend some informal relax-time with friends or colleagues over a drink or a meal.

Lovely pub, staff gave us a great warm welcome helped us find a table and looked after us for drinks, they had a BBQ running and were so went and got the menu from the BBQ and bought everything to us, we were a group of heavily pregnant Ladies and there partners and they waited on us so well and then the BBQ was super tasty and good portion size.
Would 100% go again.

Tried to book a party 18birthday for family. Communication took place over 2 weeks, with store manager and 3 other members of the team. I was given price per room of £175 (if we opt for catering this fee would be waved off and I'd pay £10 /pp for sandwiches). All that had to be done , was email sent by the manager - his admin day is apparently Monday...it is Friday and I'm still waiting. I called the pub and the manager tells me they don't do family party for 18 yo, and that he has never spoken to me (even thou he said in the first sentence...yes this rings a bell. And I recognised his voice). He was rather rude and obnoxious. Now days, where you think pubs are struggling and we are trying to support them not going under, you would expect way better service.

Haven't been here for quite a long time. The last time was when it had just been refurbished. This visit I felt quite a nice atmosphere, a shame the football was inescapable would have been nice to not have to listen to it in at least one part of the pub but at least it wasn't on screen in your face. The Sunday lunch was super tasty - my only criticism was it wasn't very hot which is a shame otherwise would have given 5 stars

Very disappointing World Cup venue. Cheap plastic glasses, poor audio, SD television and no atmosphere (presumably due to lack of clients based on above factors). Plenty of better pubs in St Albans.

Ok pub which has many screens showing football and other sports. A shame then that they haven’t invested in decent screens / feed resulting in poor quality pictures. Seemingly reserve tables randomly so kept getting moved around the pub by arrogant and rude staff. Food is standard pub fare. So many better pubs in St Albans.

I thought the family function room was great fir a party but the roast dinner we ordered to eat before party came 5 mins before party started .
My beef was inedible and cold .the chicken meals was cooked up & the party food came out 5 mins before party ended.
