The Cherry Tree is an absolutely lovely local pub with plenty of space for crowds big and small. There’s sometimes a fire alight on cold nights, and you’re always greeted with a smile. Good Young’s ales on tap, and a satisfying menu of pub food options done to a high standard.

Once again The Cherry Tree provided ten of us with a really good Sunday lunch. The only thing wrong was that they only had one portion of beef left . Otherwise it was great, polite and friendly staff, reasonably priced wine. Needless to say we will be returning again.

Had a really superb Christmas lunch here today. The food was fantastic, service was super friendly, and there was a lovely festive atmosphere. I'm sure it's a tough shift for kitchens and front of house staff on Christmas Day and they all did brilliantly. Will definitely be back for another meal here, it's a lovely pub and great team.

Went for Xmas lunch. It was really really bad. We were a group of 6 with three elderly members, one of which travelled from Kenya for Xmas lunch. Firstly we were left waiting nearly 40 minutes late to be seated for our booking . The food was so delayed and absolutely awful.. starters were appalling and dry.. the vegetarian option was literally a whole beetroot wrapped in pastry and was inedible. Turkey dinner was two thin slices of Turkey and so salty. It was honestly worst than a 2 pound microwave meal. Their apple crumble was pure liquid and horrible. They gave us some free wine as a sorry but at £80 per head this was really shocking and ruined Xmas lunch for everyone. Really poor and tbh they shouldn’t be putting on Xmas lunch as they clearly struggle and if I had known how poor it would be I wouldn’t even pay £10 per head for what we received, let alone £80. Refunds really should be given.

We had our small work team Xmas lunch at Cherry Tree on 21st Dec (4 of us) The venue was a bit cold on entering (staff apologised immediately as it was due to the boiler breaking down) we were given blankets and a fire was lit soon after so we soon warmed up.

We all enjoyed our 3 course dinners. Service was very friendly and relaxed and we were asked if ready to have our next course each time so nothing felt rushed or delayed.
The only downside was the service charge of almost £20 for just 4 of us (would have understood if we were part of a really big group)

None the less, I think we would consider having our Xmas lunch here again in the future.
Many thanks to the team :)

Really lovely pub ! I had the three course Christmas meal there which was incredibly delicious, every element was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately the boiler/heating in the pub was broken, but this was more than compensated for by the warmth of welcome and service, well done Will !! I look forward to being a regular customer now that I know of this gem of a pub !

The pub looks nice and welcoming but it was cold, no heating on in a very cold winter day, fire place (wood burner) isn't enough to warm a huge open space with high ceilings.

Food wise, starters are nice and tasty, mains including the ones I had with my friends were not good enough, had venison sausage (grisly) served with lumpy cold mash potato and very salty Savoy cabbage on a cold plate... My friend had pork, it was dry - over cooked, cold plates... I will not return again as the meals were not difficult to cook and yet they've been cooked and served wrong, Cherry Tree, I'd love to eat at your pub often but if you serve food like that, you won't get many customers.

Customer service was excellent, polite staff.

Please take this review as a constructive feedback, up your game with fixing little mistakes and your business will take off eventually. If you don't put in an effort, you can't expect miracles. Concentrate on the kitchen, people come out to eat something nice they didn't have cook, it's not about drinking, this is standard and widely available, excellent food is what attracts customers when they are out.
