Food was brilliant. Loads of guest beers .The staff were helpful and very friendly.

Friendly and super welcoming! We had the best quiz night from a bar. We felt as though the kitchen closed a bit too early so plan in advance. Other than that, would definitely return!

Lovely warm and welcoming pub. Superb food and real ales. Staff very friendly. So glad they started opening at midday on Fridays - we take our cockerpoo for grooming every 6 weeks (The Dog Room, also recommended) and meanwhile go to "The Bitter End" for lunch and and a couple of drinks. Love it.

Excellent! The restaurant and staff get an A+++. We have been sailing for over 20 years and have always stopped and enjoyed this great getaway. We were not able to go 4 years ago on our trip due to a Hurricane and COVID. They are doing a beautiful job on restoring their facility. The girls in the restaurant make a wonderful dinner experience one to remember. Can’t wait to return!

Food is outstanding . Been back twice and had three different mains . Boston beef can not be beaten . And sticky toffee pudding . 🤪🤪🤪

Lovely meal, reasonably priced. Good choice of reasonably priced ales. Friendly and efficient staff and pleasant atmosphere. Will go back on our next visit to Cockermouth.

Nice place and great food. The staff are nice and very helpful. The place was busy so consider booking but well worth the effort...

Best pub food I’ve ever had! Visited this pub after googling “Best pubs in the Lake District”… it did not disappoint. We had the Christmas menu, (salmon terrine, camembert, Turkey roast dinner) and it was absolutely delicioussssss! They even had a dog sausage for our fur baby. The staff were lovely and accommodating as we didn’t have a booking… thank you! Would recommend this pub to anyone and everyone, very happy!
