Lovely food and friendly staff. A locals' pub (all seemed friendly and welcoming on the night and even knew I'd seen the Specials boards). Lots of gin, whisky and beer to select from. Gin mainly Gordons and Whitley Neill, but some others.

Accommodating to requests about altering dish, so no potatoes but more salad. Also offered rice or veg.

Be aware 2 different special boards - one in dining area and one in bar area.

Planning to return.

Nice atmosphere and full of locals so lots of friendly chat. Staff were plentiful and helpful. The carvery was good. Some of the Beef was challenging but the Turkey and Gammon were excellent. Broccoli was a bit too undercooked for me. The Bakewell Tart was good and She said her Rhubarb Crumble was also v good. The weekly menu and specials board looked interesting and varied.

First visit here. Lovely cosy pub. Good varied menu. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Food excellent but portions extremely large. Would definitely recommend.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and even volunteered a parking place at the back of the property for our motorbikes.
The room was clean (always a priority for us), spacious and comfortable.
The food portions were very generous - I had to ask for a half-portion of chips with my burger, which was still plenty - and everything was cooked to perfection.
I can thoroughly recommend a stay here, and we will return the next time that we are in the area.

Called in for Sunday Carvery 14/8/22 met with a warm welcome from Julie also great service and chit chat with Lisa (loved the festival dress ✔️) and others working Lesley and team - locals really welcoming to

Carvery food was excellent plenty of it and unlike many Carvery s all the food was hot ✅✅ Puddings (thanks Lisa 😂) were superb to ...especially the Plum crumble (OMG lovely)

Great selection of finely kept and served real ales 👍 - and many assortments of Gins (thanks Lisa 😂) for the wife

Super friendly Welcoming Pub - 11/10 fully recommended !!
