Went for a meal today during the pandemic. I think the pub is under new management as you can tell the improvement in service straight away. We was greeted at the door, shown where to enter our car registration for the free car park space. What I wanted was on the old menu, but the kitchen cooked it for me anyway. Delicious meal and the customer service was superb. They do a nice pint of Guiness, there is ample parking and it is not expensive. Will definitely be returning.

To be honest the food has gone down, the menu hasn't got as many choices anymore and the plated meals are not appetising to look at. I had a plate of five chicken wings and a small rack of ribs with a handful of chips and small pot of coleslaw for nearly £12, no salad. Food was not the best for that amount of money 😕I came away still feeling hungry.

A lovely, friendly, local pub with a great atmosphere. We meet with family here on a regular basis for a few drinks and a catch up. It's a dog friendly pub which is a great bonus.
Our pooch loves coming to the pub after a walk on the hills. She gets to meet up
with other pooches...and their humans. Lovely

We visited today for a festive meal .Our table was booked for 12.15 and we ordered food straight away but first course took 45 mins to arrive( prawn cocktail)
Then the main course was another half hour arriving and it was TERRIBLE,
the plates were stone cold food obviously microwaved and lukewarm.
The gravy was beef gravy on turkey!!!
We then had to go and ask for our desserts as was looking as if they’d forgotten them. The Christmas pudding and custard were stone cold.
Considering it was a festive meal no crackers or anything no atmosphere and it was freezing cold in restaurant. Had to keep my coat on
Won’t be visiting here again

The new decor is great, as is the menu.
The staff are brilliant, can never do enough for you.
Trad Ale selection should include IPA, Bitter, stouts and porters.

Very hit & miss. Sometimes the food is edible. Sometimes it's actually nice. Last couple of visits the selection was limited due to a lot of items being out of stock. Most recent was terrible. No beef burgers. Options were chicken or veggie version. Didn't even bother to look at the rest of the menu to be honest. Spoke to someone at the bar as I had a reservation (table wasn't even reserved for us) to tell them why I wasn't ordering. Was told there's nothing they can do about it. Well, if there's nothing you can do about customers turning up to spend money and leave without spending a penny because there's limited options, I'm really at a loss to advise.

Nice layout with a good range of keg & cask ales and food. Called in during a Thursday dinner and was amazed to see the place packed with people having Christmas Dinner and workers having a deserved break. Great atmosphere with staff kept busy serving. Another place definitely worth a visit.
