Simply the best place locally for a carvery. I would travel 20 miles as its that good but I am local so I am lucky. Staff are super helpful and I get the feeling that they respond to these reviews as it keeps getting better. Best to book on a Sunday as it gets very busy due to its popularity. Saying that I don’t book and get lucky as I am prepared to wait. I am a vegetarian and their nut roast is brilliant coming with its own gravy. The Yorkshires are also veggie.

Visited with family on a warm day in early August. Have to say that the staff coped with a very busy restaurant brilliantly. Nothing was too much trouble and extremely courteous. Food very good considering the covers the restaurant has to deal with. I would certainly recommend for a family meal - no frills but good hearty fare at very reasonable prices. Well done to the team!

We visited for lunch today, and were not disappointed. Hubby had the Carvery, and I had the Poacher's Chicken, both of which were beautifully cooked, and delicious !
Always lots of lovely choices on their extensive menu.
The staff are always friendly, polite and helpful.
We have visited on a numerous of occasions, and cannot fault anything.
Happy to recommend! We'll be back!

Very good carvery with an excellent assortment of vegetables, etc. Unusual in that all orders needed to be placed at the bar. Ideally book a table and turn up on time as the pub is very busy. Staff friendly and efficient. Prices reasonable with small meals on offer if wanted.

Has to be one of the best carverys in the area. Staff are always friendly and helpful, great beer garden and terrace in the summer plus loads outdoor space for kids to run around...

We visited for Sunday lunch and are glad we did. Friendly greetings and excellent service got the meal to a good start. As for the carvery it was both generous and excellent. We wanted rare beef and got rare beef, the vegetables were cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire Pudding absolutely excellent. The only shortcoming was our own fault - we didn't leave room for a sweet!

Would have been a 5 star if we didn't have to wait without a reason to go up. We didn't get shown to our table only pointed from the entrance. There is no soft drink menu, only a wine menu so you're not aware of drink prices. A pint of heineken came to £5.50 and I didn't see anywhere a listing of prices for pints and soft drinks. Once we were seated we was left to it and had to find someone to get our bill.

Food was good was just a shame about the service and way the pub is run. I.e not shown to table and not clear price of drinks.
