Stopped for a pub lunch after a long walk. Very helpful staff, real ales and freshly prepared classic pub food. Five stars if had been just a bit cleaner around our table.

First of all, we were kind of shocked to see such a friendly neighborhood. The moment we were walking in, all that we received was the kind gesture and greetings of the regular customers and the staff. It was such a great, welcoming place. We went there for a quick lunch after an official meeting, and the steak dish we ordered came on a sizzling hot skillet. The steak (medium-rare) had been cooked to perfection. The beers were served in very clean glasses at a perfect temperature. The washrooms were very accessible and clean. This restaurant has their own parking lot too, therefore, we could enjoy our food and beer peacefully. Anyone who visits Litchfield should try visiting this place :) ...

A hot simple meal, but tasty, enjoyable and good service. Pleasant surroundings.

My Wife and I and our three small dogs are house hunting in Stowe, Lichfield. So we checked out the area and eventually landed on this pub because we like a Christmas 'tot.' So. Full marks for this pub, the lady who served us was lovely and it wasn't long before we were talking to most of the customers in there and they were amazing because i'm not really a big talker. What a day! What a pub and its people. SEE YOU SOON as residents. 🙂

Food here is great value, hot and tasty. Mixed grills and steaks arrived on a skillet and all were cooked as requested. Only reason for giving a 4 not 5 is that the only cask ale on offer was Pedigree which is not a favourite...but it was in decent condition.
