Came here on a Saturday night for an evening meal. Went for a nice low fat fish and veg option. It was very tasty and fresh. Someone else got the pie and featherblade beef, both said their meals were lovely. Good portion sizes, not too much and not too little. A bit pricey for food though, but everywhere is like that now.
The service was good, nice pleasant staff. We didn't wait too long for food either.
Overall pleased and would go again.

Been a while since we've been here and it's under new management it appears.

I thought the menu was a bit limited.

My wife had the gnocchi, which she said was nice however we had to request a spoon to be able to eat the sauce it was in as it was a bit thin.

I had the rump steak. Asked for medium rare but it was a bit more towards medium for me (just personal preference).

Overall the meal was nice, the service was good, friendly and attentive without being intrusive.

Possibly be a while before we return.

Came for lunch today and really enjoyed the Sunday roast! The only thing I wish was that the normal menu was still available as well as the Sunday one as the normal menu is so good and I really fancied one of their meals and didn't realise it was only a Sunday roast menu on a Sunday, however I shouldn't really complain as this is only personal preference and it is Sunday after all! Service was good, got seated really quickly for a table of 6 and the atmosphere was just what you want on a Sunday, relaxed and easy going. Have been before and will definitely return.

Not a very good experience of this yesterday unfortunately went in with a friend for Sunday dinner, service was very poor, brought our food didn't ask if we wanted any sauces, or drinks didn't bring any gravy ( food was dry) they brought gravy to every other table but ours, so had to ask twice for gravy and mint! By the time the waitress brought it our food was cold!! Yes I appreciate they were busy etc but when your paying £15/20 for a dinner you expect to get a decent hot meal and unfortunately this was not!

Had a lovely meal. Lamb melted in your mouth. Very comfortable with friendly staff. Inside is bigger and a lot nicer than it looks from outside.
Would definitely return if around there again.

I would give this 4.9* very good nice to see professional waiters and good quality food. Shared a dessert and remember to give two spoons. Ordered 3 & 2 course.
Soup was delicious and lamb melted in the mouth. Nice fresh & green vegetables. Only thing cooled down quickly like our meal, common problem. Maybe hot plats & bowls would have helped.
Dessert was all we needed to top off with. For me not having a Sunday off and having a Sunday lunch was very rewarding.

No doubt about it, the best pub food you can have! The chefs take things to another level here. Brilliant service and dog friendly too. Make sure you don't miss the cheesy chips, trust me! Will definitely be returning to check out the Sunday lunch.

A nice pub with friendly staff and some characterful interior details, including a large fireplace. Good food with a decent choice of typical pub fare. Children's menu is especially well priced. Can book tables ahead of time if you wish.
