The Admiral Wells

Despite being very busy today with a christening, we had a lovely Sunday roast today with pudding. Service was great, we didn't have to wait long, food was hot throughout and staff were polite.

Always happy to go back here again.

Walked from the nearby Conington Airfield on two evenings after flying. Well greeted and enjoyed two lovely meals here on 2 seperate occasions, Both myself and Son ordered different meals and enjoyed on both occasions.
Nice location and venue, clean and nicely decorated. Staff were friendly & helpful too.

Couldn't book a table for Sunday lunchtime so had to eat much later but it was worth the wait. All tables occupied at 4pm so I took that as being a good sign and that the food was likely to be good.....and it was. I had a lovely rack of lamb with seasonal vegetables as shown in the photo. Other roasts and an a la carte menu were also available. Would very much recommend but you need to book well in advance! Only negative is that there was no room to park on site, so had to park by the nearby railway crossing.

A group of pilot friends, 8 of us flew up from Denham to nearby Conington airfield and walked the 10 minutes from the airfield to the pub. We had a wonderful lunch in the conservatory area, terrific food and served with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble for the delightful Julie who looked after us. We will most certainly come again.

A very nice pub in a spot right by the train great northern line, very nice if you like trains. We went here for food but arrived a few minutes after 2:30pm to find they had just closed the kitchen so we couldn't order. This was a shame as others were just getting started on what looked to be decent fare. Others were also caught off by the 2:30pm kitchen close and left disappointed. We stayed for drinks; the staff were friendly and very helpful. There was a lovely log fire going and the atmosphere was relaxed. Certainly a place worth visiting if you enjoy pub lunches, just make sure you turn up in good time.

My wife and I had initially gone to another new pub for lunch but they were not doing food at lunch times, contrary to their website.

We pass the Admiral Wells almost on a daily bases and have had evening meals there in the distant past.

We called in on our home and what a good decision that was. It was a cold day but the pub had its fires and heating on making a great atmosphere. The Landlord was nice and accommodating.

The food is, as I’d call it, good old pub grub with some special meals too. The staff were great and the meals were large and tasty.

We will certainly be back there, sooner this time and it is closer than our favourite pub in Stilton.

Decisions, decisions. Always good to have a few good pubs in your back pocket.

The food was amazing, massive portion sizes, the staff were very attentive about a prawn allergy even if only half the meal turned up because the oil is used to cook prawns. But even still, they were very thoughtful. Service for the starter was a tad slow, but we will be heading back.

Booked a table to take parents out for meal. They could not have been more helpful, my dad's in a wheelchair, they showed us the easier entrance for access for him and the table had plenty of room for the chair. The food was amazing and very large portions, dad's smaller portion was still ample! Such lovely helpful staff and told us we could have a take out box for our dessert as we wanted one but abit full. We will be going back soon for a birthday celebration.
