Delightful surroundings - the dining room is a hidden gem off the market Square. Outside dining area as well. Has an extensive menu of well-cooked meals. Offers a full kitchen plus a specialist Pizza Oven. Highly recommended, but advisable to book ahead during weekends.

Since becoming vegan 18 months ago I find it hard to enjoy eating out now as most restaurants still have very little options and so I never even bother browsing the menu. But the Blue Boar had several options and even an amazing chocolatey pudding. Even the ice creams were mostly vegan (you actually can't tell the difference BTW). So I'm very impressed by their food options and the staff were really lovely and helpful. Please keep up the good work for us vegans 🙏.

Have been here quite a few times for lunch and it has become our go-to place in Witney when we just want something quick and light.

We are always made to feel welcome and the service is always super friendly and top notch. The interior & surroundings are lovely and seating in comfortable.

I can highly recommend the Cumberland sausage and hash brown brioche sandwich. The pizzas are really good too. Will be back again soon!

I went here with my partner for a Sunday roast and wow it was the best Sunday roast i have Ever tasted and believe me i have had many. The chicken was so tender and the veg was cooked to perfection. The portion size was spot on and the Yorkshire pudding was huge! it was crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The service was great and it's such a lovely pub with a warm atmosphere. Thank you to you all and keep up the great work. :)

Amazing food quality late in the evening. Despite a wrong order, we got both meals to enjoy! Both pizzas and chicken dish was really fresh and great quality! We also had a lovely room in the 17th century building in this sweet village! Would recommend to everyone!

Really nice interior, quick service. Food was amazing- fish and chips. Fish was firm and tasty, batter was light, chips were chunky and soft. Crushed peas and a jar's worth of tartare sauce. Definitely will be returning

Lovely pub with great food, the pizzas and burgers are lovely! The staff are friendly and it has a nice atmosphere. We have visited twice in the last year and both times the service has been extremely slow, the first time on a Sunday we felt this could be because it was busy but on an empty Saturday lunch the food took nearly an hour to come out after ordering with no apologies for slow service. It’s a shame as the food is great here but I think we will stick to drinks moving forward!

I don't like leaving bad reviews but our meal today wasn't great. The positive is how kind the waiting staff were. You could tell they were harried and seemed understaffed. Top class service.

But the food wasn't great. Service was incredibly slow. We got in a little after noon and didn't get main courses until around 2pm. Mains didn't come together. Others had nearly finished eating by the time mine arrived. In the main food was fine, and kids enjoyed theirs but my wife's sea bass was so past its use-by date as to be inedible.

It's a shame as ambience was good.
