Fantastic food, excellent staff and a very cozy atmosphere with great music. I'll come back next time I'm in town.

Friendly, good menu. Large garden but on a slope with several steps so not ideal for older people.

A gorgeous pub in a small village.
Friendly staff and the most beautiful beer garden. Wish I lived closer but well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Nice pub, good beer average wine. The only food was pizza but it was very nice. Well worth a visit.

Positives: The pub looks the part inside and out, and it's in a picturesque setting. I went for lunch on a Saturday without booking and there was no problem getting a table. The prices are lower than at similar places.

Negatives: The staff seemed inexperienced and did more blagging than was necessary. My friend ordered a lime & soda and ended up with a glass of soda water with a slice of lime in it. In the same vein, the pizza we ordered arrived without one of its main toppings ('nduja), and when we questioned it the staff initially claimed that it was us who were mistaken. Ultimately and after some minutes in the kitchen they had to acknowledge that they actually hadn't put any on, because they'd run out. The chef put some more salami on in recompense but overall it was a bit of a strange experience. The garden is supposed to be a feature of this place but you're not allowed to eat in it (even when it's very quiet).

Summary: A visually charming locals-type pub let down by some cut corners

Nice, cosy pub in a small village, polite stuff, with good selection of ales and ordinary pub food done right. They also do a selection of pizzas. Had a good time :)

Great village pub with fab selection of real ales - the Timothy Taylor Landlord was excellent! Chickens roam free in this wonderfully relaxed setting in the shadow of the church. Well worth a visit.
