Lovely pub in a quaint village setting with plenty of parking available and outdoor seating in beer garden.
Went for dinner this evening and was the first time I ordered food here and must say the food was absolutely delicious and steak cooked to perfection. Chips were amazing and the ribs were gorgeous too. The staff were very friendly and service was spot on from the lovely waitress. Will definitely be returning as now my favourite place to eat. Dog friendly too Highly recommended. 10/10

Lovely pub in a nice country village. Popped in on the Bank holiday Monday, staff informed us of the few items not available which was not an issue as still plenty on offer. The staff were brilliant, really friendly & informative. We looked through the non alcoholic drinks list which was more extensive than most pubs offerings. We opted for the prosecco & the rose options, both recommended. For food, we ordered the chicken tikka curry which was good. The salt beef burger which was very tasty & the vegan option was the risotto, very fresh & flavourful (only improved if extra bread added). For dessert we ordered the ice cream, caramel/banana waffle which was very nice & the crumble with vegan ice cream (coconut), very nice options. Definitely visit again. Plenty of seating& car parking space available.

A fantastic example of Greene King pubs being run how they should be. Everything from the food, to the interior to the beer is done well. The staff are attentive and great to have a chat with too. This is definitely the right choice of pub if you are in the area.

I have always enjoyed coming to the Ship Inn and have done on many occasions however this weekend was probably the worst experience I have ever had at a resturant. They accepted the order without having some of it.... not that they told us - they just didnt bring it out.... to top it off we waited 1 and 1/2 hours for this to come out for my Daughter!! I would suggest avoiding - I requested a refund for the meal but we will wait and see if this come through...

To make it worse they reply to your rating asking you to email about your review and then still dont make contact or do anything!

Went last night for my wife's Birthday and our Anniversary. Lovely place, very polite staff, food was delicious but oh the wait for the food. Table was booked for 7pm we arrived at approximately 6:45. Shown to our table in a quiet part or the premises. After ordering our food at just after 7 we waited until 8pm before it arrived.
Then we waited again for the waitress to come back to take dessert orders. I eventually walked round to the bar and placed our order.

Family birthday meal. Table booked for 7pm. Call received late afternoon so say that there was no roast dinners left. Not a problem as that was not what we were going for. Got there in time, nice quite secluded corner. Drinks promptly served and order taken. 45 minutes before food turned up and order not totally correct. Food however was piping hot, delicious and errors corrected. We had to chase the waitress for desert which then also took a while to get to us and some items not available. Again the desert was delicious. Overall it was a pleasant evening but the service was awfully slow.

Stopped off here for a bite to eat. I had the Sunday roast with chicken. The place is nice and welcoming, the staff are friendly and polite. Food wise it is fantastic value, with the Sunday roast you get a choice of a free starter or desert. A minor critique but nothing major is that the vegetables that came with the roast ( carrots and cauliflower) were under cooked as they were still a bit hard. But non the less great value and friendly environment.

Stopped for a bite to eat whilst walking the darnley trail. Nice pub, friendly staff, and food was good too. Was told a 30 Min wait for food which wasn't too bad but actually arrived within 15 ! Had outside seating too as well as a large pub garden out back it looked like. Liked the fact they still had hand sanitizer as soon as you walk in , something alot of places have now stopped doing. Was a welcome break in the middle of a six mile walk .
