A quick detour driving west from Southampton. What a find!
Easy to get to, easy to park either a car or bike.
Was met at the door and shown to a choice of indoor/ outdoor seating areas.
All the food is made fresh at the time of ordering and reasonably priced.
A great place to add to your new forest ramblings , I would highly recommend. A**

We visited The Trusty Servant whilst on holiday in the New Forest; it was recommended to us by our host. The pub is very pretty in a traditional way in a great location in Minstead.
As well as indoor seating there is an extensive beer garden.
I was delighted with the menu. As a vegetarian I am very rarely spoilt for choice but on this occasion there were many options for me to choose from. The tofu 🍛🍱 I eventually decided upon was delicious, well cooked and beautifully presented. Husband’s burger 🍔 and child’s pizza 🍕 also excellent.
The staff were exceptionally welcoming. The only reason I haven’t given five stars is that there was only one person behind the bar and I had to queue both times I went.
Good for drinks and / or food. Child friendly. Not cheap but excellent value for money.

We took a small detour to stop for lunch at the Trusty Servant on the way from Poole to Surrey, and it was well worth it! They offer an extensive and varied menu but the quality of all our dishes was excellent and portion sizes were generous too so hard to fault the food!! Visited with my wife and 8 year old daughter, between us we sampled and pizza, burger and kids sausages and mash, plus sampled the desserts, all very good and satisfying. The Indian themed vegetarian burger was a highlight. Only slight improvement point would be the mash that came with the sausages could be better - bit more smooth, creamy and better seasoned please :-)
Definitely worth a return visit though

Several of us went for food, whilst half way through a bike ride. A couple of Mac and cheese dishes, the rest of the group had burgers. There was no food left, portions seemed ok and the food tasted good.
Prices were a little steep, but your in the middle of the New forest so it's not as though there's alot of choice.
I would go again. If it were a little cheaper I'd give 5 stars....even the dog liked and gives his paws up.

I've stayed in quite a few Premier Inns with my company but nothing beats staying away in a scenic Inn in the New Forest. The rooms are a good size and well decorated with great view from my bedroom window. Food here is superb, served with a good portion and very tasty . Its nice seeing the pigs , donkeys and ponies roaming around this picturesque setting. Definitely will be coming back here and spreading the word.

A cosy pub which was most welcome on a cold day. The roast beef was fabulous... with the beef being the star of the show. Super tender and perfectly cooked. Portions were massive and along with a great choice of beers this is about perfect IMO.

Reasonable alternative to Weatherspoons, worse quality pound for pound though. Rude and inattentive staff, terrible wine selection, 2 warm beers on tap. Consistently dirty glasses, undercooked roast potatoes which also tasted old / like leftover roasties. Roast pork was easily the worst ever eaten, had better school dinners. And a Camembert with truffle oil with zero trace of truffle. I’m only putting 2 stars so it doesn’t get drowned out by the 1 star reviews. People need to reevaluate their choice of pub before going here. Zero redeeming qualities I’m afraid. Country pubs line this deserve a warm welcome, better choices and well cooked nice produce. Go to the Shoe Inn in Exton instead
