Great selection of food and very tasty, there's also a specials board. Staff were really friendly. Not much parking that I could see, but there is some. You can book tables outside, handy for the summer.

We had the nicest sticky toffee pudding I have ever had at The Cleave with added clotted cream, just delicious. Steve and his team could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Stunning setting in this most beautiful of villages. Dont miss a visit, and the dog can come too!

A beautiful pub set in an idyllic hideaway.
If you are Coeliac like me you won't be disappointed! The staff are knowledgeable and reassured me that the kitchen would take care not to cross contaminate.
The chips are absolutely amazing- probably the best I've ever eaten!

Good pub and nice atmosphere. We'll worth stopping in when visiting the area. Welcoming staff, good food and best in the winter when the fire is on.

Superb food, fresh, good quality, local and beautifully presented. My husband had the butternut squash tagine with rice which was tasty and I had the chicken and leek pie and chips with peas, (very tasty & generous portion). We shared a sticky toffee pudding and it looked and tasted divine. 😋 Staff were friendly and welcoming, the environment was cosy with a log fire. It was so good to see a beautiful old pub in a quaint idyllic little village still open and doing very well. Thank you, would love to return one day.

Serious disappointment when it could have been so good! The menu looked amazing but the three staff members behind the bar managed to totally ignore us for 5 minutes. In the end I asked them for a menu. They asked if I was eating there? I said it depended on the menu ( my wife is veggie). They said they were fully booked anyway!! Wow..what amazing customer service. I am an ex food inspector and know seriously poor service when I encounter it. I just hope the pub has some money saved for the future and that they are not depending on the same old same old group of customers.
We went to the White Hart in Moretonhampstead and had an amazing meal.

Idyllic pub, in an idyllic village, on the edge of idyllic Dartmoor. Wish it was my local. Had lunch here last week in the pretty beer garden on a glorious September day. Calamari were quite incredible, I could have stuffed them down until they came out of my ears! Pan-fried venison haunch with red wine and juniper jus was also an absolute triumph. The dogs usually get a wee tidbit, but this was just too tasty, so I gobbled it all up much to the hounds' consternation. I was a bit surprised to tell you the truth about how good the food was as I think I've become so used to pub food being rather disappointing and uninspired. But this was a memorable lunch all washed down with a few cold Tarka lagers in the sunshine. What a great day it was!

Beautiful place in the most stunning location. We walked from Bovey Tracey to Lustleigh and were treated to one of the best pub lunches we have had. The food was delicious, I highly recommend the burgers. Will definitely be returning.
