Barley Mow Inn

Had surf and turf boxing day 2017. It was busy and we had reserved a table. Food and service were lovely.

On entering the pub you see its very clean and smart looking, ordered a couple of drinks from the large selection.

I ordered the steak burger from the limited menu, very disappointed, the steak burger had obviously been sat on the toasted bun for a while as the fat had soaked in to the bread and made the whole thing soggy and most of it stuck to the wooden board it was served on, the steak burger lacked any flavour it seemed to be missing salt or herbs, the chips were supposed to be thrice cooked but arrived very soggy/greasy and served in a little basket that wasn't good when you put salt and vinegar on as it leaked out all over the board and on to the table. Unfortunately I will not be going back.

About the best thing on the menu is fish n chips or sea bass, my wife's steak was awful. Its all gone downhill recently so our £50 a month has gone too.

Sunday Roast @the Barley Mow, Wingerworth today is the absolute best! The other half had the Roast beef & I had the Belly Pork; delicious. Plenty of meat, vege, gravy and a large Yorkshire pud! Love this place; great food; great service and fab ambience- we’ll be back often. Bravo Barley Mow

We have been here several times for Sunday lunch and it has been excellent every time. Perfectly cooked tender beef, lovely vegetables, a huge Yorkshire pudding and perfect mash & roasts. The desserts are as good as the mains. The service is nice and friendly too. It's a treat to come here and we highly recommend it.

Lovely afternoon in sun never been before very glad we did ,the food was delicious we had a 3 course Sunday dinner at £17.95 for 3 courses couldn't fault it service was on point, well done 👏👏👍
