Great venue with indoor and outdoor performance stages. Friendly staff and drink deals that keep the party flowing especially with such quality staff.

I would imagine it could be difficult to see the band if there's a full house in but with a half decent attendance you can find a good vantage point to watch the act.
Beer is reasonably priced and service good.
Sound and lights were spot on.
The venue is situated just on the outskirts of the city centre, with little street parking. However, there is a large car park just a 3 minute walk away. £2 to park all night on a Saturday after 6PM.
A big little venue, who put on all kinds.
Worth a visit.

Absolutely massive place, it's a real Tardis!
There's a bus stop right outside which is very convenient and they have great live bands playing frequently. It's also a sister pub of Olde England in Wellingborough (my local).

Lovely alternative pub, returned for my second run with the gothic market hosted here by Stalls From The Crypt. Music and atmosphere are great, lovely venue

Prefer your pubs more on the metal and gnarly side? Look no further. With a medieval-esque interior complete with suits of armour and a banging sound track, you can enjoy that overproofed ale in... er... comfort?! Its got a seperate stage and back room with another bar that has played some great gigs and often hosts after parties after Roadmender clears out, like a DJ set from Benji in SKindred for example. LAST BUT NOT LEAST - BIGGEST BEST GARDEN IN THE CENTER OF TOWN.

What a great pub!

Slightly biased review insofar as I saw Album Chart band The Lottery Winners play in the back room with the superb @MaddoxJones in support, but great nonetheless.

Real ales, craft beers and real ciders sold alongside the rather pedestrian mainstream boring lagers and fizzy ciders make for a wide choice of drinks. Quirky entertainment includes a fairground style crane-grab machine and a retro pinball machine. Staff were friendly and prices reasonable.

Oh, did I mention @TheLotteryWinners ? Superb band in a wonderfully small, but well laid out venue.

The rear beer garden is very impressive too!

Started using this boozer back in the 90's when it was called the Racehorse.
It still has its old school indie/rock vibe and is probably the best alternative pub in the county.
Since Phil Moore has taken over the back room and turned it in to the hottest live music venue in the region. The staff are always friendly and polite, the beer is good and the music is varied and loud!
What else do you want.

Very noisy music, makes it difficult to concentrate. Good beer selection though. Strange but likeable decor.
