Chequers

Came down to Chequers this evening for a meal and a few drinks. Absolutely brilliant service at the bar and our steaks were cooked to perfection! Cannot recommend Chequers enough for a lovely meal especially. Great value for money and very friendly and helpful staff as a bonus. Look forward to our next visit 😁

Celebrated a birthday this evening at the Chequers, we were a large party booking. Service was outstanding with helpful and friendly staff and our meals were quick to arrive and delicious thanks to the chef Ann and her team in the kitchen. Thank you for a great evening.

Was warm and welcoming. Friendly staff.. good service too with a smile And s joke.
Ans have to say really enjoyed the food, dessert too !

It's a hungry horse pub so cheap and cheerful. Lots of parking spaces. Toilets clean. Plenty of seating inside. Food not great, I had the Christmas Dinner and paid to upsize. The upgrade was not worth it, couldn't really tell the difference from everyone else's. Brussels, cauliflower and stuffing ball were rock hard. Potatoes tasted ok but very small.

My dad and Grandad had their Christmas Day lunch at the Chequers this year and were so happy with their experience that my Grandad has asked me to leave this review -

Myself, son and our friend all visited the chequers on Christmas afternoon and were all so pleased with our decision. My Son and I both had the traditional Christmas dinner and thought it was exceptionally good. The meat and potato’s were so tasty and there was so much of them that neither of us could finish our meals. The veg cooked just how we like it and beautiful gravy. We could not fault the service, friendly cheerful waiters who could not do more for us.
Our friend had the steak and also said just how nice it was. Cooked to perfection.

I would recommend the Chequers to anyone looking for somewhere to have their Christmas meal next year. I will certainly be booking again!

Fantastic Large Breakfast at at a really good price. £5.49 + £1.20 for hot drink is really good value for money. The most important thing is that it's freshly made. 10/10
Gentleman is very welcoming and while I was eating came to check if I was happy with my Breakfast. Shall definitely return.

Went here with the Mrs and kids. The food was good and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. Set menu with plenty to offer and fast service despite it being busy. Would recommend for an easy and affordable family meal.

My husband, my brother and myself went to the Chequers for New Year's Eve where there was a duo singing. The entertainment was really good as they adapted their repertoire to suit the audience. The buffet was brilliant with Smoked Salmon served as well as many other choices. I would really say it was excellent value for money and I would recommend the restaurant to others.
