Not a walker friendly pub, parked the car in the pub car park, couldn't find anyone in pub to ask permission but assumed a country pub would be used to walkers etc, so went for a lovely long walk, only to come back to find the Landlord had blocked my car in with a van. Pub was closed, so no hard earned shandy, and had to undertake a 20 point turn to get car out !

This is very much a small village pub full of character and characters. The food is good quality home made pub food, well served. I would recomend the steak and stilton pie, it was fantastic.

Nice friendly people, owners and customers. Popped in for a quick drink on our way home. Nice outside area by the river will be lovely in the sun.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon for a fiftieth birthday get together. There was a large group of us in and we were well taken care of despite the birthday boy becoming fairly loud with his tall story telling and power laughing. There was a traditional buffet laid on by the pub and it was excellent, we enjoyed all of it. My extremely fussy nine year old daughter who will only eat a few varying but select food items insisted she would like chips. The landlord willingly went out and cooked her a bowl of chips. Thank you.
This is a genuine country pub like I remember from my youth, not a modern attempt to replicate that feel. Give it a go and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I'll be returning, maybe for one of our lengthy drinking binges, or perhaps just for some food and a couple of pints. Or maybe both!
