The Red lion is a lovely large and spacious pub in the beautiful village of linfield. Large pub garden. Food all day looks good although I didn't eat. Good selection of beers and real ales

A typical pub that offers a good standard traditional food and drink selection. Tidy, clean, the staff was busy but lovely. Food was what you’d expect in such an establishment. A plus - they serve it all day.

Pete has to be my favourite landlord. What a great pub. Well kept ale. Nice food. Friendly staff and an very entertaining quiz at 8pm on Sundays. The regulars are ok too. Perfect back garden for the nicer weather also.

My self and my children had a table booked for 12pm today Sunday the 16th of October. On our arrival the pub was very quiet. We waited 5 minutes stood at the bar before we were even acknowledged. After we were finally seated I ordered some drinks at the bar, my daughter asked for water and ice, after the drinks were poured the bar man had walked away, we noticed a small glass of water along with the rest of the drinks that we presumed was the water, it was in fact the soda water used to clean cutlery as the bar man forgot to do her drink, it was too late as my daughter had already drank some and noticed it was not still fresh water. No apologies given at all. We ordered our food and asked for 2 additional cauliflower cheese, they were disgusting, it was nothing but a watered down béchamel at best, zero cheese or flavour and all you received was a mouth full of un drained cauliflower. When approaching the manager at the bar, again not much communication regarding the issue apart from the refund of the cauliflower cheeses. As some one who has been in the catering industry for over 20 years I’m shocked that these small things still occur especially with regards to simple things like acknowledging customers when they arrive regardless if you are serving the one customer at the bar. Then simple things like remembering a glass of water on a 4 drink order so that someone doesn’t end up drinking the cutlery water, and finally a basic cheese sauce which was something I mastered 1 year into becoming a chef. Put a little Dijon mustard and some salt and pepper in the cheese sauce and actually add some cheese on top to get some nice colour when it leaves the oven or grill.

Great pub with a quiz running when we arrived. Food looked great but not served after 9 on a Sunday so too late to try.

Took my 4 Granddaughters to breakfast with Santa it was amazing one of the best Christmas events we’ve had this year.Pete the manager had everything set up perfectly and Casey and Becky could not do enough to make it a great day for all the children. And to top it all Santa was the best loads of enthusiasm and fun with so much communication with the children.
Thank you all at the Red
