Good comfortable rooms and breakfast is cooked as required. Vegetarian and lighter options available and also children's menus for all meals. Open from 11am until 9pm for food. Best to book as it does get busy. Ground floor rooms accessible from the car park.

Great selection if beers and wines, the foods good, as is the service. These should be givens, but aren't always. So why bother making the trip. This is a largish hotel/ restaurant and pub. It combines both quaintness and roominess, which is a little odd. Off the main road so relaxed view if the village Common, with the village cricket pitch just beyond. Will go back.

Scrumptious ribeye steaks. So good we came back the next day! Very helpful friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and today I discovered there is also an hotel tucked away at the back. I'd stay here and eat here, happily, all day long. They also have a great range of gins on offer 😁. Recommended.

Great place to stay for a couple of nights whilst visiting friends in the area. Clean, comfortable rooms and a freshly cooked breakfast of your choice. The restaurant and bar area is good for meeting up with friends, but can get busy, so best to call ahead and reserve a table. There is an accessible level car park, and opposite the pub is the village green.

Great little pub.
Staff fantastic, food fantastic.
Been visiting Chipperfield for 50 years that's 50 years I've missed out on this little gem.
Will make this a regular weekend visit and you can walk it off In the
most beautiful ancient wood lands with trees going back to the 1500s .

Honestly the nicest place I've stayed in a while! The bedroom was lovely and clean and the bed was so comfy had a great night sleep! We had a meal in the pub downstairs at night and the food was beautiful! We then had breakfast in the morning and this was also spot on too! You could not fault the staff either! So friendly and attentive to everything we needed especially the older lady at breakfast she was amazing! Would deffo recommend to anyone if your in the area!

Stayed the night. Found the bath/shower very small. Not able to accommodate someone 6". The shower water pressure was poor and the shower head was blocked narrowing the stream. Room was great. Good sized bed and clean. Although smelt a little damp. Would of liked to experience the food. But when we went down we sat at a table and the waitress ignored us. We told her we were ready to order and she said she was not ready to take our order. Then proceed to go around the room and serve everyone else even those who arrived after we asked to order... Found it to be quite rude. So after 30 mins of being ignored we up and left to go else where.

Very nice food & a lovely setting. The food prices are very reasonable and portions are decent.
The only issue we have had on our last two visits (both on Sundays around 5pm) is that the service is extremely slow. The food on both occasions took quite some time to arrive after ordering, and our children’s food came out last on these occasions which did not help when they’d already been waiting almost 40 minutes.
We will try again as the food is amazing but the service does need to speed up a fair bit (in our opinion).
