Recently visited here with my partner and I say our visit was ok.
The staff was friendly and the food was lovely too. The tables were clean and the glasses and cutlery was spotless too.
Our negative comments about our visit was that we waited awhile for our drinks after ordering on the app. Totally understand if there was people getting served at the bar but there was hardly anyone there.
Also, the toilets looked they had not been checked and cleaned for some time. There was tissue on the floor of most toilets and a sanitary bin was overflowing in one.
Apart from those minor things we would consider here again.

I wouldn't even give this place one star if I could. So a table was booked for 15 of us. When we arrived we had a table set up for 10. Good job there was another table by us that we could use.
The food came out at all different times. People had finished eating before the final meal had arrived at the table about an hour later. They had to ask us what food was missing even though we had pre booked our meals.
I work in catering and its really not hard to put food through on a till and for a chef to read the check and send out the correct meals at the same time or even a few minutes apart. Not 10/15 minute gaps between a few meals.
When the food arrived it was lukewarm at best. Most of us ate what we could as we hadn't eaten most of the day and were hungry.
Nobody came to the table to clear the rest of our plates and ask us for desserts. One of us ordered off the app and got his dessert. We then asked for ours. Nearly 20 minutes later and nothing. Baring in mind most of the desserts were 2 scoop ice creams. We cancelled the desserts and paid for what we had and left. Save to say we won't be returning.
I am also gluten intolerant and since leaving here has made two trips to the toilet as I have obviously not been given a gluten free roast.
I have eaten today gluten free cereal and gluten free biscuits. I know for a fact these were gluten free. Which leaves your Sunday roast (or Sunday disappointment).
Ours was the only table as well at the time who was waiting for food.
I think your chefs (microwave techs) need training

First and last time coming here. Absolutely awful experience today. People getting their meal an hour after the rest. One being a child. Wasn't even worth the wait because the food was Luke warm and just about edible.

Served a gluten intolerant person a meal with gluten in, he is now ill!

I have no idea what went on on that kitchen today but not a lot of cooking did. There wasn't even anyone else eating except us and 1 other table. Desserts were none existent. We cancelled them, paid and left. We will never be back. Feel robbed having paid for that experience. Awful.

Where do I start? Firstly. I rarely post reviews, whether positive or negative. But after my experience today I couldn't not make one.

Firstly, we booked for a party of 15 people. We were asked to make our order days in advance, which we did.
When we arrived, a table was set out for 10 people, despite us booking for 15. The food was quite frankly nothing better than a microwave roast dinner from Asda. The soup was indescribable, and not in a good way at all, it was also luke warm. The first meal arrived (without it's side) on its own. Then next few meals arrived about 15 minutes later, 15 more minutes a few more arrived. A CHILD was left waiting 45 minutes for their meal after the other children had finished! One of the children's meals was a tiny toddler meal instead of a large. An HOUR after the first person had ate, the last adult finally got their meal! The first person to get their meal still hadn't had their side by this time either. We were then left for god knows how long, until one of us had to ask for the desserts, one dessert arrived. A further 15 minutes passed and no more desserts arrived. By this time we had had enough. It was the worst experience we have ever had when eating out and absolutely will not be coming back or recommending anyone eat there.

And to top it off the gluten free roast was NOT gluten free, one of our party is now il!

It wasn't busy at all, no excuse.

I can understand one, maybe two errors but this was horrific.

dining at the hare and house was an absaloute forgettable experience, under trained staff came to mine which makes you think what are the management skills like of the management staff never mind just the employees. we had an absaloute shocking experience dining here today from start to finish. It all started from booking a table for 15 days in advance over the phone to be presented with a table for ten people on arrival. the pub was really quiet we were the only party eating food which the first meal came out followed by the rest staggered with 15 minute at least time slots between each dish. the children we had with us were waiting last till they finally got their meals which is appaling, the carbonara did not have garlic bread with it until 20 mins after being presented with the dish which the person had to force down him to eat as it was discusting but he was that hungry with the wait of the food he done his best to eat it, needless to say the person who was with us who cant have any foods containing gluten got given a dish which contained gluten even though the staff were informed he cannot have any gluten, would not reccomend this place at all to anyone, the running of the shift came across so amaturish, the tabke was not even cleared properly from plates by the robotic staff, i have never wrote a review and never complain but this place fully deserved it

This used to be an historic pub with a lot of character so at first I was disappointed in going in to find it just a modern chain pub. But I was won over by the friendly relaxed atmosphere and staff, by the well kept real ale (both a choice of traditional British beer which I like, and the modern craft beer kind for people who like that) and the food. The pub is very popular for food in the daytime and the evening and has a nice crowd of all ages, families, couples, friends, older people and younger. I enjoyed meeting my friends Grahame and Steve there for conversation, and later returned for a reception. The pub has a large decked outdoor seating area for better weather, alongside the Leeds Liverpool canal but accessible from the pub and car park, not from the canal towpath directly. Friendly staff, who were very busy when I visited with many diners and people in for drinks.
